An Evo IV or V that has been driven hard on rough pavement usually shows its age in the dampers first, and the Mitsubishi Evo IV NTR-R3 Coilover Kit is built to fix that with something you can tune. Each corner has four separate adjusters, high and low speed for compression and rebound, so one setting no longer has to handle every kind of surface. The front dampers run their reservoirs on hoses, the rears carry theirs piggyback, and the rear suspension stays the OEM type. Specialized Bi-Axis Hose Fittings

Only the front dampers use hoses, and their fittings are where the installation gets easy or awkward. Nitron uses Bi-Axis connectors that turn 720 degrees on two axes, so each hose can be aimed at its reservoir before it is locked down and routed without sharp bends or load on the fitting. That matters in an engine bay as full as the Evo’s. At the back, the piggyback reservoirs sit right on the dampers and need no hoses at all.

Unique Technology

Think of the four adjusters as two pairs. The low speed pair deals with the car’s big movements, the weight shifting forward under braking, the roll as you turn in, and the squat when boost arrives. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
