Nissan GT-R turbo kit from AMS Performance is the Alpha 22X, the pinnacle of the Alpha “X Series” turbo systems for the R35 GT-R (CBA-R35, DBA-R35, EBA-R35, 2009-present, LHD only), capable of over 2,200 wheel horsepower and a 6-second quarter-mile. Updated for 2020, the Alpha 22X Nissan GT-R turbo kit comes standard with 3.5″ downpipes, 4″ aluminum intake tubing, and 4″ turbo inlet components that the competition charges thousands extra for. Every part has been redesigned to spool faster, pull more air in, and get more air out, making substantially more power than the previous generation of Alpha turbo systems.

Alpha 22X Turbochargers
New for 2020, AMS spec’d the 22X turbos with a 76mm billet compressor wheel, a turbine housing featuring a massive T4 inlet and v-band outlet, and a 4″ surge-ported compressor inlet. The result is 2,200+ whp capability with no loss in spool, delivering more horsepower throughout the entire powerband while sustaining higher boost for improved output and reliability.
Redesigned Tubular Exhaust Manifolds
The 22X kit features exhaust manifolds with 2.0″ external diameter runners yielding a 1.7″ internal diameter, designed to feed exhaust gases as efficiently as possible to the X-branded turbos. Each manifold is extrude-honed for a smooth interior finish throughout, further improving exhaust flow.
4″ Aluminum Intakes and 3.5″ Stainless Downpipes
The large 4″ compressor inlets are fed by 4″ aluminum intake pipes, developed by laser-scanning the engine bay and designing in Solidworks CAD to use every bit of the tight GT-R space with a full 4″ cross-sectional area throughout. The TIG-welded 3.5″ (90mm) T304 stainless steel downpipes match to an existing exhaust system and are built without a rear exhaust flange, allowing easy custom fabrication of 3.5″ turn-downs, a merged 5″ racing exhaust, or adaptation to an off-the-shelf 102mm exhaust. Included TiAL 44mm external wastegates dump through 1.75″ atmospheric dump tubes.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
