Which Porsche 911 models do the Moton 3-Way Motorsport Coilovers for 964 fit?

MOTON lists the Moton 3-Way Motorsport Coilovers for 964 for the Porsche 911 Carrera 2 / Carrera 4 / Carrera RS (964, 1988 to 1994). Each Motorsport set is built to order in the Netherlands for that fitment, so confirm the exact model, year and any previous suspension changes with us before ordering.

How does the 3-Way Motorsport kit compare with the other MOTON kits for the 964?

The 3-Way Motorsport adds a second compression circuit, so low-speed and high-speed compression are set separately on the reservoir at each corner of the 964. The 2-Way Clubsport keeps compression as one adjuster, and the 1-Way adjusts rebound alone. On the 964 it is the kit for racing and data-led setup work, and it rewards time spent with a setup engineer.

Which 964 owners choose the 3-way kit?

Mostly owners who race or run regular track days with a setup engineer. The separate high-speed and low-speed compression adjusters let a 964 be tuned for a particular circuit and tire, which pays off with data and time on track. For road driving the 1-Way or 2-Way Clubsport kit is easier to live with.

What comes in the box?

Four non-inverted monotube coilovers with springs and remote reservoirs, each adjustable for rebound, low-speed compression and high-speed compression, pillowball front camber plates, built to order for the 964. Wheel spacers, any electronic damper cancellation and the alignment are not included, and the kit ships without spring preload set.

Are the 964 dampers rebuildable, and is there a warranty?

Yes to both. MOTON designs every damper to be serviced and refreshed rather than replaced, which matters on a 964 that sees heavy track use. AST x MOTON covers its coilover kits with a 24-month warranty, registered with the order ID on the product certificate or on a damper.

Description

Moton 3-Way Motorsport Coilovers for 964 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 / 4 and RS

Moton’s 3-Way Motorsport Coilovers for 964 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 / 4 and RS bring the full MOTON race specification to the 964 911: rebound, low-speed compression and high-speed compression each on its own adjuster. On a 964 the dampers carry the springs at all four corners, so a MOTON coilover replaces the complete factory strut and shock assembly rather than an insert. Low-speed compression governs roll and pitch on the 964, while high-speed compression governs kerbs and sharp bumps, and each can be set without disturbing the other. On a 964 that competes, it gives a setup engineer every adjustment MOTON offers.

Design and Performance

Two compression circuits separate the response to slow inputs, such as roll and pitch under braking, from fast ones such as kerbs and ripples. On the 964, body control can be firmed up without making the car skip over bumps. It is overkill on a road car; the Moton 1-Way Coilovers suit that use, and the Moton 2-Way Clubsport Coilovers sit between the two.

About Moton

MOTON Suspension Technology was founded in the Netherlands in 1999, and by June 2000 around 30 percent of the cars at the 24 Hours of Le Mans ran its dampers. MOTON has since won in the FIA GT and FIA Sportscar championships, the ETCC and WTCC, Grand-Am and World Challenge. AST Suspension acquired the brand in 2011, and every MOTON damper is now developed, tested and built by the AST x MOTON team in the Netherlands, part of the Roosen Industries group since 2016.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
