The Sound

• Kline Innovation enhances the Porsche 718 GT4 RS by removing the heavy chambered rear silencer and replacing it with a lightweight, F1-grade Inconel 625 X-pipe and fully bypassable Inconel silencers. This transformation significantly reduces weight and elevates the exhaust pitch into a more exotic tonal range. By eliminating the OPF and catalysts and opting for either HJS motorsport catalysts or de-cat pipes, the sound is fully opened, amplifying the high-pitched silencer section into a striking exotic scream. Kline Innovation’s rear valvetronic setup enables a versatile experience: the car can be driven in stealth mode with valves closed, or unleash a raw, unhindered sound with valves open. The addition of expertly crafted, F1-grade Pre-Preg carbon fiber exhaust tips perfectly complements this enhanced exhaust system.

Performance

• Kline Innovation enhances performance by replacing the OPF with a specially designed silencer, effectively removing the most restrictive component without introducing the unwanted drone typically associated with OPF removal. Upgrading the stock catalysts to 100-cell HJS motorsport catalysts or decat pipes, along with adjusting the subsequent air-fuel ratios, can deliver gains of up to 20 hp.

Stainless Steel

• The exhaust manufacturing industry often opts for 304-grade stainless steel, admired for its strength, thermal stability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of workability. However, its hefty weight and limited tensile strength can prove to be a disadvantage when integrated into high-performance exhaust components. Moreover, the necessity for thicker walls may negatively impact the exhaust’s sound.

Inconel

• In contrast, Inconel 625 is highly regarded for its sturdiness and heat resistance. This material, often employed in constructing key components like high-performance jet engine exhaust turbine blades, is the preferred choice for Formula One exhaust systems and esteemed hypercar projects such as the McLaren P1 and Aston Martin 177. Despite its ability to endure temperatures exceeding 1000°C and its commitment to a lightweight design, Inconel brings unique challenges due to its intricate machinability and specialized welding requirements.
