What else do I need besides the kit?

A dedicated exhaust is required because the factory exhaust layout has to change. The car also needs body modification, custom fitting and paint from an experienced shop. The GT wing, canards, air intake, brake ducts, hood, trunk and wheels shown on the demo car are all sold separately.

Does the Type-GT Widebody Kit for AP1 cars fit the AP2?

Yes. The Type-GT Widebody Kit for AP1 cars is listed for both the 1999 to 2003 AP1 and the 2004 to 2009 AP2. Every installation is fitted to the individual car, so the shop should expect trimming and adjustment on either chassis.

What wheels fit under the wide fenders?

The manufacturer demo car runs 18 x 9.5J offset +15 at the front and 18 x 10.5J offset +13 at the rear, with camber set at -4.30 degrees. Those are reference values only; with different camber the same wheels may not fit, so confirm sizing with your installer.

How much wider does the car become?

The front fenders add 60mm per side and the rear fenders 75mm per side over the stock body. That extra width is matched by aero changes from the nose to the diffuser, so the kit is designed to work as a complete system rather than piece by piece.

Should I choose FRP or Carbon?

FRP is the lower-cost route and is painted like the rest of the car. The Carbon option replaces the usual non-woven mat on the back with cloth, which the manufacturer says adds strength, saves weight, raises rigidity and keeps the airflow behind the panels smoother.

Description

J’s Racing Type-GT Widebody Kit for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

J’s Racing’s Type-GT Widebody Kit for AP1 and AP2 S2000s is the Osaka tuner’s attempt to turn its front-engine, rear-drive roadster into something close to a GT racer or a silhouette formula car, the look its Maou demo car made famous. It is far more than room for wider wheels: J’s Racing poured aero data from its racing into managing airflow from the nose along the sides and under the car, keeping the drag a wide body adds to a minimum while building downforce across the whole body. The front grows 60mm per side and the rear 75mm per side. It is a project for a dedicated circuit or show car, not a weekend bolt-on.

Features

Long-nose front bumper that reduces air resistance
Front wing integrated into the under panel, working with front steer fins to create downforce through negative pressure
Fins that also vent turbulence from the wheel wells and heat from the engine bay
Rear fenders with outlet ducts and a diffuser-shaped rear bumper
Cloth-backed construction on the Carbon option

Under panel
Front wide fenders

Notes

A dedicated exhaust is required because the factory exhaust layout must change, such as the J’s Racing 70RR titanium exhaust for the Type-GT S2000
Body modification, custom fitting and paint are required; professional installation only
Add your own retention to the front under panel, such as extra aluminum stays under the front wing section
J’s Racing USA reports under panels breaking at mounting points at high speed, so reinforce the bumper edge and radiator support mounts
Not included: hood, trunk, GT wing, aero mirrors, air intake, brake ducts, single canard, wheels, tow hook, exhaust and rear bumper net
Options: FRP, or Carbon with a cloth backing
Made to order in Japan; Bulletproof Automotive confirms the lead time with J’s Racing USA when you order

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
