Will the arms work with an automatic headlight leveler?

No. The manufacturer states that the arms cannot be used with an automatic headlight leveling system. If your EP3 has one, ask Bulletproof Automotive how it affects your car before ordering. The arms also need an alignment after fitting, which is not included with the purchase.

Which cars do the Rear Upper Arms for EP3 fit?

The Rear Upper Arms for EP3 are designed for the JDM EP3 Civic Type R with the K20A engine, built from 2001 to 2005. They may not fit the US-market EP3 Civic Si, so contact Bulletproof Automotive with your exact model and any suspension changes before ordering.

Why adjust rear camber on a front-drive car?

The manufacturer treats rear camber adjustment as the starting point for setting up any front-drive car, because the rear axle setting shapes how the car balances in corners. Adjustable arms let you choose that setting instead of accepting whatever the factory geometry gives at your ride height.

What are the arms made of?

The arm bodies are 2017S aluminum, which the manufacturer chose to help reduce weight, with pillow ball joints at the ends and a turnbuckle center that sets the length. No weight or adjustment range is published, so Bulletproof Automotive does not quote one.

How does the turnbuckle help during an alignment?

Because the length is set by the turnbuckle, the technician can change rear camber by adjusting the arm rather than swapping parts, and the manufacturer says this makes alignment work significantly easier. After the final setting, torque the fasteners to specification and keep checking them.

Description

J’s Racing Rear Upper Arms for EP3 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Rear Upper Arms for EP3 Civic Type R start from the Osaka tuner’s view that rear camber adjustment is the foundation of setting up a front-drive car. Each arm has a turnbuckle body with pillow balls at the ends, so its length, and with it rear camber, can be set freely. The bodies are 2017S aluminum to help save weight, and the turnbuckle layout makes alignment work far easier. Sold as a left and right pair, they belong on a lowered EP3 that sees circuit time; a stock street car will gain little.

Tips

Install the arms to the specified torque and book an alignment straight afterward. J’s Racing asks owners to check the bolts and nuts regularly, and every time before a circuit session. The arms cannot be used with an automatic headlight leveling system, so check whether your EP3 has one before ordering.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
