Do the Black Series Coilovers for CL7 cars fit other Accords?

Yes, in Japan. The manufacturer lists the Black Series Coilovers for CL7 cars for the Accord Euro R and the Japanese-market CL9 Accord. Fitment on the US Acura TSX is not stated, so send us your vehicle details and we will confirm it with the US distributor before you order.

How stiff are the springs?

Both ends use 12kg/mm springs with a 65mm inner diameter, with free lengths of 200mm at the front and 250mm at the rear. That is stiffer than a typical street coilover, which supports a lower ride height and a cornering-focused balance.

Can I lower the car without losing suspension travel?

Yes. The kit uses a full-length adjustable design, and the manufacturer shortened both the case length and the stroke so the car can be set up low without giving away bump stroke. The wrench needed for ride height changes is included in the kit.

How is the damping adjusted?

Damping has 15 settings, adjusted with the hex wrench supplied in the kit. Turn the dial gently, because the manufacturer warns that too much force through the wrench can break the damper shaft. Choose softer settings for the street and firmer ones for the circuit.

Can the dampers be rebuilt?

Yes. Every Black Series damper can be overhauled, and the manufacturer also offers replacement damper cartridges for the front and rear. That matters on a car that does regular track work, because worn dampers can be serviced instead of thrown away.

Description

J’s Racing Black Series Coilovers for CL7 Honda Accord Euro R

J’s Racing’s Black Series Coilovers for CL7 Accord Euro R owners are the first fully original coilover from the Osaka tuner, built on more than 20 years of knowledge from Super Taikyu and other race series. The RS specification is a high-spec street damper tilted toward sports driving: spring rates run higher than a typical street coilover, which allows a lower ride height, and the front-to-rear rate balance is set up for cornering. Full-length adjustment with a shortened case and stroke means you can set ride height without giving up bump travel. It suits a Euro R that sees track days; a comfort-first commuter may find it firm.

Design and Performance

The dampers are monotube. Across the Black Series, J’s Racing uses upright dampers and reserves an inverted, large-bore design for strut cars that need extra rigidity. Damping adjusts through 15 steps to match the circuit and conditions, every unit can be overhauled, and J’s Racing offers replacement damper cartridges front and rear.

15-step adjustable damping

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
