J’s Racing’s Black Damper RS for GK5 Fits is the first coilover the Osaka tuner developed entirely in house, the Black Series Damper RS, drawing on more than 20 years of racing in Super Taikyu and other classes. It is a high-spec street damper tuned for sports driving: the springs run stiffer than a typical street kit, with a front to rear balance chosen for cornering. The full-length adjustable body lets you set ride height without giving up bump travel. It suits a GK5 or GK3 that sees fast roads and track days; a Fit driven purely for comfort will find it firm.

Design and Performance

Every damper is a monotube unit. Shortening the case and stroke is what lets the kit lower the car while keeping bump stroke, and where a strut needs extra rigidity J’s Racing specifies an inverted body with a large-diameter cylinder.
