Do I have to drill to fit the wing?

Yes. The manufacturer states that drilling is required to mount the wing, so treat it as a permanent change and have a body shop or experienced installer mark and drill the holes. Mounting hardware details are not published in the material Bulletproof Automotive has, so ask before ordering if that matters to your install.

Which cars does the 3D GT Wing for EP3 fit?

The 3D GT Wing for EP3 is designed for the JDM EP3 Civic Type R with the K20A engine, built from 2001 to 2005. It may not fit the US-market EP3 Civic Si, so confirm your model with Bulletproof Automotive before ordering and mention any spoiler or aero parts already on the car.

How is the wing adjusted?

The wing has four steps of adjustment, letting you choose a setting for a low-speed circuit, a high-speed circuit or the street. More angle generally brings more downforce along with more drag, so start at a moderate step and change it based on how the car balances, ideally alongside front aero such as canards.

Does the carbon need a protective coat?

Yes. For cars kept outdoors or used for many years, the manufacturer recommends a UV-cut clear coat to protect the wet carbon from sun damage. The coat is not included with the wing, so budget for it with a paint shop if the car lives outside rather than in a garage.

Why does the wing have a banana shape?

The curved top surface lets the wing gain area while keeping its overall width in check, which suits a compact car like the EP3. Combined with a three-dimensional section that works with the airflow coming off the roof, the manufacturer says it reduces drag while generating downforce efficiently.

Description

J’s Racing 3D GT Wing for EP3 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s 3D GT Wing for EP3 Civic Type R uses the three-dimensional wing shape that has become standard in GT racing, tuned cars and time attack. This version is wet carbon, 1350mm wide, with a single flap. The top surface curves in a banana shape to gain wing area without adding overall width, and the complex 3D section is shaped to catch airflow coming off the roof, cutting drag while producing downforce efficiently for more speed through fast corners. It suits an EP3 that spends regular time on circuits; on a street car the gain is mostly visual.

Design and Performance

Four adjustment steps let the wing be set for a low-speed circuit, a high-speed circuit or the street, so one wing can follow the car from event to event. Mounting it means drilling. For cars kept outdoors or owned for many years, the Osaka tuner recommends a UV-cut clear coat to protect the carbon from sun damage.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
