J’s Racing’s 1.5-Way LSD for EG6 Civic SiR builds is the Osaka tuner’s mechanical differential for front-drive Hondas, sold in Japan as the 1.5way High Traction L.S.D. A 1.5-way unit locks fully under power and works mildly off throttle, which J’s Racing considers the right balance for an FF car. Rather than chasing a high initial torque, the design relies on the inherent cam locking action, so lockup follows the throttle and the car stays settled. It is the part that turns a B16A Civic into a car that can drive out of slow corners; for a stock commuter it is more than needed.
J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.
