Are the tips made of titanium?

Invidia names this version for its burnt titanium tip finish, and the rest of the system is 76mm 304 stainless steel. Invidia does not publish a tip material specification for the FL5 R400, so treat burnt titanium as the finish. Invidia sells full titanium exhaust systems as a separate product line.

Does the R400 Cat-Back Exhaust for FL5 cars keep the factory valve?

Yes. The factory valve stays in the system and the drive modes continue to control it, so the car is at its quietest in Comfort with the valve closed and at its loudest in Sport and +R. Nothing extra is wired in, so the valve behaves exactly as Honda programmed it.

How loud is it compared with stock?

Clearly louder and deeper, especially under throttle, with the R400 sitting between the quieter Invidia Q300 and the louder N1. Invidia publishes no decibel figure. Owners describe a bassy start up and some drone at a steady cruise in the sportier modes, which is worth weighing if the car covers long highway distances.

Does it fit without cutting?

Yes. The system bolts to the factory mounting points and hangers with no cutting or welding, and ships with the gaskets, nuts, bolts and clamps required. The tips are not welded on, so they can be positioned to sit evenly in the rear bumper opening before the clamps are tightened.

Will it fit the Acura Integra Type S?

No. This R400 Cat-Back Exhaust for FL5 cars is listed for the Civic Type R only. The Integra Type S shares the K20C1 engine but has its own rear bodywork and exhaust routing, and Invidia makes a separate R400 system with its own part number for it.

Why choose the burnt titanium finish over black?

It is purely a styling choice, as the two versions share the same piping, muffler and 101mm tip size. The burnt finish shows blue and gold heat colouring that stands out against white, grey or blue paint, while the black version suits cars with blacked out trim.

Description

Invidia R400 Cat-Back Exhaust for FL5 Honda Civic Type R with Burnt Titanium Finish Tips

Invidia’s R400 Cat-Back Exhaust for FL5 Honda Civic Type R with Burnt Titanium Finish Tips is the same system as the black-tip version, 76mm 304 stainless piping, a resonated straight-through R400 muffler and three 101mm tips in the factory centre-exit position, with one visible difference: the tips carry a heat-coloured burnt titanium finish. That finish is the reason to pick it: the heat colouring stands out against white, grey or blue paint in a way black tips do not. Underneath, the car gains a clearly deeper, louder note than stock, sitting above Invidia’s Q300 and below its N1, while the factory valve still lets the drive modes quieten it. Expect some cruise drone in the sportier modes; that is the character of the R400 line.

Design and Performance

The R400 bolts to the factory hangers without cutting or welding, and the double-resonated midpipe keeps the extra volume from turning harsh in the cabin. The three tips are not welded to the system, so they can be set to sit evenly in the bumper during installation. Invidia names this version for its burnt titanium tip finish and does not publish a separate tip material specification for the FL5 R400; its full titanium exhausts are a different product line.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
