Does the Hose Kit for E8X BMW 135i also fit the 335i?

Yes. HPS sells the same part numbers, 57-2160 for the radiator hoses and 57-1860 for the radiator and heater set, for the 2007-2013 BMW 335i with the N54 or N55 engine. On the 135i side, HPS lists the 2008-2010 N54 coupe and convertible, so the later N55 135i is not covered by this kit.

What is the difference between the two kit options?

The Radiator Hoses option, HPS 57-2160, replaces the radiator hoses only. The Radiator and Heater Hoses option, HPS 57-1860, adds the heater hoses so the whole coolant circuit is renewed in one job. Both come with HPS stainless steel embossed clamps and the same reinforced silicone construction rated to 350F.

Will silicone coolant hoses make the car lose coolant?

Yes, slowly. HPS states that silicone hose passes water through its wall at 10 to 15 times the rate of EPDM rubber hose, so a 135i or 335i on silicone can need an occasional top-up even with every clamp tight. Checking the coolant level during routine maintenance keeps ahead of it.

What is the Hose Kit for E8X BMW 135i made from?

HPS builds the Hose Kit for E8X BMW 135i and E9X 335i cars from reinforced silicone intended for prolonged high-temperature service, with a maximum rating of 350F. The hoses are molded with the factory bends, and the clamps are stainless steel, non-perforated and embossed so they grip firmly without cutting into the silicone.

How hard is the installation?

Fitting the hoses means draining the coolant, swapping each hose using the supplied clamps, then refilling and bleeding air from the system. Because HPS molds the hoses to the factory shape and includes the clamps, the job follows the same steps as replacing the original BMW hoses, and an owner comfortable with cooling system work can do it at home.

Description

HPS Silicone Radiator and Heater Hose Kit for E8X BMW 135i N54 and E9X 335i

HPS’s Silicone Radiator and Heater Hose Kit for E8X BMW 135i N54 and E9X 335i replaces the factory rubber coolant hoses on the turbocharged 3.0L cars with reinforced silicone that HPS rates for prolonged service up to 350F. Two versions share this listing: the radiator hoses alone (HPS 57-2160), or the radiator and heater hoses together (HPS 57-1860). It suits an owner chasing a weeping or cracked factory hose, or one refreshing an older N54 or N55 cooling system.

Design and Performance

Every hose is molded with the bends of the BMW original, so it follows the factory routing. Reinforced silicone tolerates repeated heat cycles far better than aging rubber. On a car whose original hoses are still supple there is no pressing reason to swap; the kit earns its place when the rubber is due anyway, or after a hose has failed.

Features

Reinforced silicone hoses molded with the correct bends for a direct fit
Rated by HPS for prolonged high-temperature service up to 350F
Stainless steel non-perforated embossed clamps that do not cut into the silicone

Radiator hoses in black, blue or red; the radiator and heater set in black or blue

What’s Included

HPS reinforced silicone radiator hoses
HPS reinforced silicone heater hoses, with the Radiator and Heater Hoses option only

Notes

The Hose Kit for E8X BMW 135i and E9X 335i is sold as one complete kit in the version and color selected
HPS states that silicone hose permeates water at 10 to 15 times the rate of EPDM rubber, so check the coolant level regularly on a daily-driven car
The red radiator and heater hose set is pictured for reference; that set is offered here in black and blue, and the radiator hoses alone in black, blue or red

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
