Will the Catch Can Kit for VB WRX models fit a 2015-2021 WRX?

No. HPS lists part number 860-009 for the 2022 and later WRX with the 2.4L FA24F turbo engine. The earlier VA WRX uses the 2.0L FA20F and a different HPS kit, part number 860-007, so the bracket and hoses in this kit are not listed for those cars.

Does the kit fit the WRX tS and GT?

Yes. HPS lists the GT for every year from 2022 and adds the tS for the 2025 and 2026 model years, with the tS Performance listed for 2026. The Base, Sport, Sport-tech and Limited trims are covered as well, all with the same 2.4L FA24F engine and the same kit.

How does the catch can protect the FA24F?

The catch can captures crankcase blow-by, a mixture of oil and vapor, before it can enter and contaminate the combustion chamber. HPS states that this significantly reduces carbon buildup on the valves, keeps octane levels and power delivery consistent in any driving condition and helps protect the engine from premature wear.

How is the can checked and emptied?

An easy-to-read dipstick shows the fluid level, and the billet can holds up to 5 ounces, which HPS says minimizes how often it needs emptying. To drain the Catch Can Kit for VB WRX models, a standard 14mm wrench or socket fits the hex at the base of the cup.

Does installation require drilling or cutting?

No. HPS designed the bracket to use existing factory mounting points in the FA24 engine bay and describes the kit as a plug-and-play installation. The -10 AN hoses connect with push-on fittings, so fitting the catch can is a bolt-on job that relies on mounting points already present on the WRX.

Description

HPS Aluminum Oil Catch Can Kit for VB Subaru WRX 2.4L Turbo

HPS’s Aluminum Oil Catch Can Kit for VB Subaru WRX 2.4L Turbo stops the oil and vapor mixture of crankcase blow-by on the FA24F before it reaches the combustion chamber, where HPS says it feeds carbon buildup on the valves and drags down octane. A machined billet aluminum can holds 5 ounces, and the kit plumbs in with -10 AN hoses and push-on fittings. Its custom bracket uses existing factory mounting points, which suits owners of a current WRX who want a clean bolt-on installation.

Design and Performance

HPS frames this kit around long-term engine health rather than a gain measurable on day one, citing consistent power delivery, steady octane and protection from premature wear. The billet can and corrosion-resistant powder-coated steel bracket are built to live in a hot FA24 engine bay. The kit only pays off if the dipstick is checked and the can drained on schedule.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
