HKS changed the material so the studs resist elongation even under excessive boost pressure, which is what lets a head lift and a gasket leak. The kit suits a GZEA14H build with raised boost or a bigger turbo, especially with an HKS grommet type head gasket; on a factory-power car it adds cost without a clear gain.

Construction

Each stud threads to the bottom of its hole in the block, so the engaged thread is longer and stress is spread out, allowing a higher axial force. HKS controls the correct torque from that bottomed position, and carburized washers with an enlarged seat surface resist deformation.

Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
