The HKS Hipermax R Coilovers for ZN6 cover the first-generation FA20 twins: the Toyota 86 and Scion FR-S on the ZN6 chassis and the ZC6 Subaru BRZ, all rear-wheel drive. HKS uses one part number across the three and did its setting work at Fuji Speedway on ADVAN A052 tires. Hipermax R builds on the HIPERMAX S damper and adds three parts found only on the R line: SRF damper oil, LVS high-strength springs and an upper spring retainer. These cars reward chassis work more than power, so the kit suits an owner doing track days and mountain roads; the later FA24 cars need different HKS kits.
