GiroDisc’s Front Rotors for NC1 Acura NSX models bolt on in place of either factory front disc, iron or carbon ceramic, and replace it with a floating two-piece assembly. The ring is GiroDisc’s own cast iron, poured in the USA and machined start to finish in Bellingham, Washington, carried on a strictly US-sourced 6061-T6 aluminum hat by 10 drive pins. Because the factory calipers stay, brake bias and ABS efficiency remain as Acura set them. It is the front upgrade for an NSX owner who wants less rotating mass without a big brake kit.

Design and Performance

Inside the ring, curved vanes act as a centrifugal pump, drawing air in at the hub and driving it out through the disc to shed heat on long braking zones. The slotted face keeps the friction surface clean and stops a water film forming in the rain. Anti-noise spring washers on the drive pins let the ring grow with heat while keeping it quiet when cold, and the float lets it self-center under braking.

Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
