Will the F-150 EcoBoost Intercooler fit my Raptor?

Yes. Garrett lists the F-150 EcoBoost Intercooler for 2015 and later F-150 trucks with the 2.7L or 3.5L EcoBoost, Raptor included. It goes in the factory location with the stock bolts, hoses and clamps, but the active grille shutters have to come off to install it, so plan for that before starting.

Do I have to remove the active grille shutters?

Yes. Garrett states that the active grille shutters must be removed to install this cooler. Everything else carries over, since the cooler reuses the stock bolts, hoses and clamps. Allow extra time for the shutter removal when planning the job, and keep the parts in case the truck ever returns to stock.

How much cooler will my charge air be?

Garrett estimates a 25F reduction in charge air temperature compared with the factory cooler, along with a 30 percent reduction in pressure drop. Cooler, denser charge air helps a tuned or towing truck hold its power under sustained load, which is where the factory cooler gives up the most.

What is the drain plug for?

Condensation tends to collect in the F-150 charge air system, and Garrett machines a drain plug into the cooler so it can be checked and emptied. The plug comes out with a 3/8 inch open-ended wrench. With the engine running in park, remove it over a catch can and watch for any fluid.

Is 750 horsepower what my truck will make?

No. 750 horsepower is the most Garrett says the cooler can support, which leaves headroom for larger turbochargers and more boost later. The power a truck makes depends on its engine, turbochargers, fuel and calibration, while the intercooler keeps charge air temperature in check as output rises.

Description

Garrett F-150 EcoBoost Intercooler for 2015+ Ford F-150 and Raptor

Garrett’s F-150 EcoBoost Intercooler replaces the factory charge air cooler on 2015 and later Ford F-150 trucks with the 2.7L or 3.5L EcoBoost, Raptor included, using a TIG welded aluminum assembly with a core Garrett states is 83 percent larger than stock. Garrett estimates a 25F reduction in charge air temperature and a 30 percent cut in pressure drop, and rates the cooler to support up to 750 horsepower. It suits a tuned truck that tows, climbs long grades or works in hot weather, where intake heat costs power; a stock truck driven lightly will notice less.

Drain Plug

Condensation buildup is common on the F-150 platform, and Garrett machines a drain plug into this cooler to relieve it. The bolt comes out with a 3/8 in open-ended wrench. Garrett’s check is to run the engine in park, remove the bolt over a catch can and watch for fluid, revving gently a few times if any appears, then dispose of it at a local waste facility.

Features

Vacuum brazed bar-and-plate core with an advanced offset fin design
Cast aluminum end tanks, TIG welded for strength
End tanks reworked from the factory design to improve air flow through the core
The F-150 EcoBoost Intercooler reuses the stock bolts, hoses and clamps

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
