What is included in the Fabspeed Valvetronic Performance Package?

The Fabspeed Valvetronic Performance Package is a complete three-part kit: the Valvetronic Supersport X-pipe exhaust system, a set of BMC F1 replacement air filters, and the Fabspeed ECU tuning upgrade. Together they add power, drop weight, and give the R8 a switchable exhaust note, all as a single bolt-on package.

Does it fit the V8 R8 or only the V10?

V10 only. It fits the Type 42 Audi R8 V10 from 2009 to 2015, including the R8 GT from 2011 to 2013, all with the 5.2L V10. There are no V8 applications for this package, so confirm your car is a V10 before ordering.

How does the valve system work, and is it loud?

The valves are controlled by the car based on throttle input and drive mode. With them closed the exhaust is quiet and drone-free for daily driving; with them open it flows straight through the dump pipes for a loud, race-style roar with backfires on lift. You get both characters in one system.

Do I have to send in my ECU?

Yes. The Fabspeed ECU tuning upgrade is a mail-in reprogramming: you ship your ECU with the information form, and Fabspeed flashes and returns it. Your factory settings are stored, so the car can be reverted to stock later for a small fee if needed.

Is it a complete bolt-on, or do I need anything else?

It is a complete package. The exhaust bolts on with no cutting or welding, and because the ECU tune and air filters are included, there is nothing else to buy to get the full result. Installation is straightforward for a qualified shop.

How much weight does it save and power does it add?

The Supersport X-pipe exhaust alone saves around 30 lbs over the factory system, and the combination of freer exhaust flow, BMC F1 filters, and the ECU tune adds power across the rev range. Exact dyno figures vary by car and fuel, so gains are best confirmed on your own setup.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
