Will the Fabspeed RSR Header Muffler Kit fit my Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 or 3.2?

Yes. The Fabspeed RSR Header Muffler Kit is built for all 1976-1989 Porsche 911 Carrera models, with separate heat exchanger configurations for the 1976-1983 3.0L cars and the 1984-1989 3.2L cars. Select the one matching your engine at checkout, along with your Sport Cat and tip preferences.

How much power does it add, and where in the rev range?

Fabspeed's DynoJet testing recorded 18 whp and 17 ft-lbs of torque at 3900 rpm, the largest gain anywhere on the curve, and 12 whp and 11 ft-lbs at peak horsepower. The kit is tuned to build midrange rather than chase a headline peak number, which is where a road-driven 3.0 or 3.2 actually lives.

What is the difference between the With Heat and Without Heat configurations?

With Heat retains the heat exchangers that feed the car's cabin heating and defrost. Without Heat omits them entirely for a lighter, simpler system, which suits a dedicated track or fair-weather car but leaves you with no heat and no windscreen defrost. Choose With Heat for anything that sees real road use.

Should I add Sport Cats?

Sport Cats are the option to take if the car is road driven, since they keep a catalyst in the system while flowing far better than the factory unit. Cars used exclusively on track often take the no Sport Cat configuration. Sport Cats can also be purchased separately later if you want to stage the build.

What comes in the box?

The kit ships with the RSR long-tube headers and merge collectors, the Maxflo muffler, and all required hardware and gaskets. Whatever you select at checkout comes with it: heat exchangers, Sport Cats, your chosen tip style, and the optional muffler bypass pipes or factory-style oil line upgrade kit for 3.2L cars.

How difficult is the install, and why the torque note?

Fabspeed builds it as a bolt-on with no cutting or welding, but it is header work, so plan for proper engine access and a lift. The bumper needs slight modification for the dual outlets. After the first heat cycle, retorque every exhaust bolt to OEM spec; headers shift as they reach temperature and the seal will not hold without it.

Description

Fabspeed RSR Header Muffler Kit for Porsche 911 Carrera

The Fabspeed RSR Header Muffler Kit for Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 & 3.2 is the point where an exhaust upgrade stops being an exhaust upgrade and becomes an engine decision. Fabspeed designs, engineers, dyno tests and race proves its own work from its Fort Washington, Pennsylvania facility, and the RSR kit is the full expression of that: equal length long-tube primaries running into F1 style high velocity 3-into-1 pyramidal investment cast merge collectors, feeding straight through to a Maxflo muffler and out a pair of tips. On a DynoJet it returned 18 whp and 17 ft-lbs at 3900 rpm across the curve and 12 whp and 11 ft-lbs at peak horsepower, while taking 23 pounds off the back of the car. It is loud, it is unmistakably a CUP car, and it is configured to order with or without heat exchangers, with or without Sport Cats, and with the tip style you want.

Features

Loud and aggressive CUP car sound through dual outlets
Free-flowing headers feeding directly into the Maxflo muffler
Lightweight
Configured to order with or without heat exchangers, with or without Sport Cats, and with a choice of tip style
Optional muffler bypass pipes for maximum weight savings, more aggressive sound and increased peak horsepower
Optional factory-style oil line upgrade kit for 3.2L cars
Simple DIY bolt-on installation, no cutting or welding required
Backed by the Fabspeed lifetime warranty

Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2: 1984-1989 | 3.2L H6

Notes

The dual outlets require slight modification to the factory rear bumper for proper fitment

Sport Cats can be added to this kit at checkout, or fitted separately with the Fabspeed Sport Cat for Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 & 3.2 (FS.POR.911.SC)
Muffler bypass pipes are offered as an option on this kit for the loudest, lightest configuration; the Fabspeed Muffler Bypass Pipe (FS.POR.911.MB) is also sold on its own
If you are not replacing the headers, the catback-only alternatives are the Fabspeed Maxflo Performance Exhaust System and the Fabspeed Supercup Exhaust System

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
