Fabspeed recognized the common issues with OEM mufflers in GT3 models, particularly the susceptibility to cracking and breaking, especially in the titanium mufflers of GT3RS cars. Their aim was to design a replacement muffler that not only addressed these concerns but also enhanced the OEM design. Leveraging over 25 years of experience with air and water-cooled systems, they optimized the tubing diameter to 2.75 inches (70mm), striking a balance between low restriction and maintaining high velocity for the GT3 engine’s characteristic pitch. The incorporation of Fabspeed’s signature investment cast x-pipe ensured optimal exhaust scavenging without creating any flow restrictions.

Sound

• To preserve the factory muffler’s exhaust note and eliminate drone, they adopted Porsche’s 7-chamber design, resulting in a muffler devoid of any drone, even when paired with race headers. For those seeking the ultimate emissions-compliant GT3 exhaust, pairing this muffler with Fabspeed’s Side Muffler Bypass Pipes delivers unmatched performance. The muffler will produce a tone akin to the OEM muffler, albeit slightly louder when the PSE is activated. Additionally, thanks to the x-pipe, it will emit a smoother and higher-pitched sound.

Power

• Fabspeed’s 991.1 GT3RS test vehicle, when coupled with their side muffler bypass pipes, the Rennsport muffler demonstrated a notable increase of 27ft/lbs of torque at 3,200rpm. Across the range of 2,900rpm to 5,700rpm, it consistently gained 10whp or more, with peak whp rising from 446 to 454. This represents a gain of 8whp or 9hp at the crankshaft.
