The Fabspeed Lightweight Competition Exhaust System engineered for the 718 4.0L cars stands out as a meticulously crafted solution aimed at achieving the lightest and highest-performing exhaust possible. The design process commenced with the comprehensive 3D scanning of the entire exhaust system using the CREAFORM 700 Handscan, facilitating the creation of a complete Solidworks 3D model. Subsequently, the exhaust and fixtures were meticulously crafted based on this model to ensure seamless integration with OEM standards. After undergoing multiple revisions for sound and dyno testing, a 2.5′ (63.5mm) tubing with a crossover tube was selected to enhance exhaust scavenging and minimize drone. The flanges, constructed from thick 304 stainless steel, were CAD-designed to precisely match the OEM flanges and accommodate the reuse of factory metal gaskets.

Sound

• The system eliminates the factory PSE valves, ensuring a consistently aggressive snarl regardless of the rpm range. Anticipate a notable uptick in volume with minimal cabin drone. For those seeking to reduce exhaust noise in compliance with race track regulations, turn down tips are available for purchase, effectively reducing exhaust SPL by 3-6db.

Power

• The race-inspired exhaust system primarily generates its power in the upper rpm range. Notably, consistent gains were observed on the DynoJet past the 5,000rpm mark. At 7,700rpm, this system delivers a substantial increase of 15whp and 10ft/lbs of torque.

• Porsche changed the exhaust brackets on the 718 GT4 and Spyder sometime around the February 2020 build date. Before purchasing you must check to see if your 718 GT4/Spyder has the early or late style exhaust brackets. Please see the example photos.
