Eventuri Carbon Turbo Inlet for 8Y Audi RS3 (LHD)

Eventuri’s full carbon RS3 Turbo Inlet Elbow is now available for the 8Y platform. It retains the proven geometry of the original 8V design, with additional fitment hardware tailored to the revised North American 8Y breather system. Developed through months of focused R&D, the inlet is engineered without compromise optimizing volume, flow quality, and temperature for maximum efficiency.

Volume

Eventuri specifies a 103mm inlet versus the OEM’s 72mm, and a 74mm outlet versus the OEM’s 56.4mm. The substantially larger internal diameters increase overall inlet volume, de-restricting the flow path to the turbo for improved efficiency.

Flow Quality

Eventuri emphasizes that volume alone is insufficient without a smooth, efficient flow path to the turbo. Constructed from high-temperature prepreg carbon fiber, the inlet features a refined internal surface that contrasts with the rougher interiors typical of cast-aluminum OEM and aftermarket elbows. Combined with the elbow’s carefully managed curvature, this finish minimizes turbulence and promotes stable, high-quality airflow.

Temperature

Eventuri prioritized minimizing heat conduction into the airstream. Whereas the OEM inlet bolts directly to the turbo conducting heat as it spools, Eventuri’s design interfaces via a machined turbo flange and a silicone coupler with an integrated thermal spacer, isolating the carbon elbow from direct contact. This thermal barrier, combined with carbon fiber’s inherently low through-thickness conductivity, reduces heat transfer to the intake airflow.

Flow Bench Testing

Eventuri validated performance on a SuperFlow SF-1020, measuring maximum flow at a 28″ H₂O pressure drop. All elbows were tested the same day under controlled conditions using an identical jig. Results highlight the OEM elbow’s restriction: Eventuri’s design increased maximum possible flow rate by 42% with the stock flange and by up to 58% with the larger GTX flange. For RHD applications, a scallop was added to clear the brake fluid reservoir; despite the slight volume reduction, the RHD variant still achieved a 52% increase over stock with the GTX flange.

Dyno Testing

Eventuri’s carbon elbow has undergone independent validation by respected tuners worldwide. BR Performance Netherlands tested the system on a TTRS fitted with a TTE700 hybrid turbo, conducting same-day, back-to-back runs with the hood closed. Comparisons were made between the stock air box, Eventuri’s Stage 3 intake paired with the OEM elbow, and the same intake upgraded with Eventuri’s carbon elbow.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
