With the 992 generation, Porsche introduced a reengineered intercooler and air intake system. Unlike previous models with a single air filter for both turbochargers, the 992 features separate air filters housed in each rear fender for improved heat shielding from the engine bay. While this design improves upon earlier configurations, the do88 induction system further enhances airflow and reduces restrictions, significantly boosting system efficiency. This system works seamlessly with the decklid-mounted air intake, now shared with the intercooler ambient duct, to deliver cooler, denser air to the engine. By improving throttle response and maximizing power output, the do88 induction system offers a substantial performance upgrade for the 911 Carrera.

Years of expertise and extensive development have consistently highlighted the strong correlation between IAT, sufficient compressor airflow, and engine output. With this understanding, do88 prioritized creating a closed induction system that minimizes exposure to ambient temperature fluctuations, outperforming the limitations of open air filters. Additionally, the design aimed to exceed the performance capabilities of standard panel filters tailored for specific models.

Development

Development began with a 3D scan of the car’s designated area, enabling precise design work within a CAD environment using SolidWorks. The air filter system was meticulously optimized for airflow, with radiuses and angles refined multiple times to achieve peak performance. The final product was rigorously verified through Computational Flow Dynamics (CFD) analysis and testing on the Superflow SF1020 flowbench, ensuring reliable and accurate performance data. The do88 air filter kit is constructed from high-quality vacuum-infused, prepreg carbon fiber and features CNC-machined connections to the turbo inlet hoses. Designed to maximize airflow, the kit utilizes the full available space within the vehicle’s structure. The carbon housings are tailored to accommodate a large inverted cone filter from BMC, known for their premium filter media. Secured with a stainless water jet-cut bracket, the do88 air filter kit fully replaces the OE air filter box, offering a significant performance upgrade with improved airflow, durability, and overall engine efficiency.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
