The do88 Performance BigPack for the 997.2 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S is the ultimate charge air cooling solution, offering a package that includes a motorsport-grade intercooler and a high-flow Y-pipe, complete with all hoses and accessories for seamless installation. Designed to significantly reduce inlet temperatures and backpressure, this kit allows the engine to breathe more efficiently, unlocking greater power potential. Originally launched in 2016 with a lightweight tube-and-fin core, the intercooler has proven its capabilities in 1000hp+ builds. In 2021, do88 upgraded to a Garrett bar & plate motorsport-grade core, delivering 11°C lower IATs and 19% higher airflow compared to the previous version. Featuring lighter, real prepreg carbon air ducts and improved cooling efficiency, this enhanced system adds just 3kg per intercooler. Together, the intercooler and Y-pipe work in perfect harmony, making the do88 BigPack a game-changing upgrade for the 997.2 Turbo and Turbo S.

Intercooler

The updated intercooler core is new, while the end tanks and accessories remain unchanged. Featuring precision-engineered cast end tanks, the intercoolers ensure optimal airflow distribution across the entire core, enhancing both pressure drop and cooling efficiency. To accommodate the thicker core, a new upper ambient air guide was developed using a 3D-scanned environment to guarantee a perfect fit with the vehicle-integrated air guides and the intercooler. To further eliminate bottlenecks, the intercooler connections are expanded to 70mm, allowing unrestricted airflow. New 3D-designed hoses, optimized for maximum airflow and tested via Computational Flow Dynamics (CFD), are included for each position. The turbo outlet hoses are made from high-temperature material rated for continuous use at 464°F. Carbon ducts with proper seals ensure all heat-transferring ambient air passes through the core without escaping around it. Each do88 intercooler weighs 18.10lbs compared to the 997.2 OEM intercooler’s 7.27lbs. This slight weight increase is well justified by the substantial performance improvements these intercoolers provide.

Y-pipe

The do88 Y-pipe is the result of extensive research, countless hours of design work, and numerous 3D visualizations and prototypes. Engineered to eliminate restrictions and support high-performance builds, the Y-pipe offers exceptional airflow with minimal added weight. It is constructed from mandrel-bent lightweight pipes with a precision-engineered 3D freeform cast joint. The cast collector features CNC-machined connections for the BOV and breather hoses, ensuring durability and optimal performance. Despite its enhanced construction, the do88 Y-pipe weighs just 3.35lbs, compared to the OEM plastic pipe at 3.04lbs and a competitor’s cast performance pipe at 6.08lbs. Finished with a high-quality powder coat, the Y-pipe is available in semi-gloss black or metallic silver, delivering both functionality and a polished appearance.

Performance

The do88 BigPack delivers a significant reduction in intake temperatures compared to the OEM 997.2 units. Data collected using an AIM race logger during five consecutive full-throttle runs (30-155 mph) in a Stage 1-tuned Porsche 997 highlights its superior performance. These tests were conducted without cooldowns, with the car in Sport Plus mode and AC turned off, ensuring consistent and reliable results.

Testing

Testing began with five runs using the car equipped with OEM intercoolers. After a quick swap to the do88 intercoolers and a brief shakedown, five additional runs were conducted under identical conditions. The results showed a significant decrease in inlet air temperature, with a peak delta of 32.4°F. Extensive development, including the refinement of end tanks and selection of an optimized core, resulted in an intercooler that excels in both heat transfer and airflow. Airflow was verified using the in-house Superflow SF-1020 Probench, tested as a complete system with intercoolers, hoses, and Y-pipe for both the do88 BigPack and OEM 997 units. The outcome is a system that delivers measurable, true performance.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
