With the S63 engine shared by the M5 and M6, these SUVs gain access to a vast range of tuning and power upgrade options, pushing the stock internals to over 800 horsepower. However, this increased power results in much higher heat levels—a challenge that M5 and M6 owners have relied on CSF’s Charge-Air-Coolers to overcome for years. In response to high demand from the M SUV community, CSF proudly introduces the High-Performance Charge-Air-Coolers, crafted specifically for the F95 X5M, F96 X6M, and G08 XM models.

Design and Engineering

CSF initially designed the BMW S63 Charge-Air-Coolers specifically for the F9X M5/M6, with over five hundred intercooler kits sold, many supporting builds exceeding 1000 horsepower. Their popularity and proven performance led to numerous requests for a compatible set for the X5M and X6M. Collaborating with Steve Dinan’s Carbahn, CSF developed an innovative mounting hardware solution. The result is a true plug-and-play system that requires no modifications for installation, offering M SUV owners a seamless upgrade to elevate their vehicle’s performance to new heights.

CSF VS OEM

CSF’s Charge-Air-Cooler cores are nearly 100% larger in volume than the factory coolers, custom-designed through CFD analysis and testing to ensure optimal performance and precise fitment. Both coolers feature OEM-style “Quick Connect” water connections and sensor ports, making installation fast and straightforward. CSF has replaced the OEM’s weaker crimped-on plastic end tanks with larger, CFD-analyzed, 100% TIG-welded cast end tanks. Additionally, CSF has integrated the charge pipe directly into the top end tank, eliminating the factory’s glued-on plastic charge pipes. This single-piece cast design creates a far stronger system capable of withstanding much higher boost pressures. Dual integrated 1/8 NPT ports on both outlet-side air tanks allow for easy installation of aftermarket methanol or nitrous injection systems, with the port placement carefully positioned to inject directly into the post-intercooled charge-air stream for maximum performance.

- Powder Coating: Powder coating is available in nearly any color you can imagine, with finish choices that include everything from high gloss to crinkle texture. You can even select accent colors or apply different colors to specific components, such as fuel rails (when applicable).
- Thermal Dispersion Coatings: Thermal Dispersant / Dispersion Coatings are submicron coatings with exceptionally high thermal conductivity. Their dense, unique chemical composition allows for efficient heat transfer. When applied to a heat exchanger like an intercooler, the enhanced thermal conductivity draws heat to the surface of the component, improving performance. These coatings are limited to Black or Grey but deliver the best thermal efficiency.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
