What does the S Tronic Power Package add over the standard Stage 2 kit?

It swaps the engine-only Accessport for one with DSG and S Tronic flashing. The S Tronic Power Package loads COBB transmission maps that raise shift points and firm up shifts, and adds TCM service tools for clutch touch points and relearns. The intercooler, filter and badge match the standard kit.

Which transmission maps come with the Accessport?

COBB lists four Off The Shelf DSG and S Tronic maps for this car: COBB Aggressive, COBB Sport, COBB OEM+ and Simulated Stock. Full throttle shift points were selected for maximum torque at the wheels from COBB HQ dyno results, and the owner can switch maps from the handheld.

Is the kit legal for street use in California?

Yes. The COBB listing shows this package as legal for sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states under CARB Executive Order D-660-235, when installed according to the COBB application guide. That covers registered A3 models in California as well as every other state.

Can the clutch packs be relearned after the power goes up?

Yes. The Accessport includes DSG and S Tronic service tools that adjust clutch touch points or trigger a clutch relearn, which COBB recommends to account for wear, slip or increased power. Transmission data can also be logged on the same device to watch gearbox health over time.

Will this fit a front wheel drive 8V A3?

Not according to the confirmed COBB application list. COBB names the package for FWD and Quattro cars, yet the fitment list covers only 2015 to 2020 US market Quattro A3 models with S Tronic. Front wheel drive owners should check with Bulletproof Automotive before ordering this kit.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 2 S Tronic Power Package for 8V Audi A3

COBB Tuning’s Stage 2 S Tronic Power Package for 8V Audi A3 tunes the gearbox as well as the engine. Its Accessport V3 carries DSG and S Tronic flashing, so the dual-clutch transmission can run a COBB map with higher minimum and automatic shift points and firmer engagement, with full throttle shift points chosen from wheel torque measured on the COBB HQ dyno. An AMS Performance front mount intercooler, a COBB High Flow Filter and a COBB vehicle badge complete the kit, covered by CARB EO D-660-235. For a 2015 to 2020 Quattro A3 whose factory shift logic feels hesitant once power rises, this addresses both halves of the drivetrain; drivers content with stock shifts can save with the engine-only Stage 2 package.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
