Does the Stage 1+ Redline DSG Package need a custom tune?

No. The Accessport in the Stage 1+ Redline DSG Package already holds the Stage 1 Off The Shelf ECU map that COBB lists as supporting the Redline intake, along with maps for the dual clutch gearbox. A custom tune from a COBB tuner only becomes relevant once more hardware is added.

Is this package legal in California?

Yes. COBB lists California Air Resources Board Executive Order D-660-222 for this package, which permits sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states when it is installed and used according to the COBB application guide for the listed GTI, GLI and A3 models.

Which transmission maps come with it?

COBB supplies OEM+, Sport, Aggressive and Aggressive IS38 DSG maps, plus a simulated stock setting. Full throttle shift points were chosen from dyno results recorded at COBB headquarters to deliver the most torque to the wheels, and the IS38 map is intended for cars running that turbocharger.

Will it fit a manual GTI or a front wheel drive A3?

No. The application list covers only DSG equipped GTI and Jetta GLI models and quattro S Tronic Audi A3 models. A manual GTI or GLI needs a package without transmission flashing, and the front wheel drive A3 is not confirmed for the Redline intake.

Can the car be returned to stock later?

Yes. The Accessport has an Uninstall option in its main menu that restores the engine computer to exactly the state it was in before flashing. The factory airbox would need to be refitted in place of the Redline intake, so keeping the original parts is sensible.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 1+ Redline DSG Package for MK7 Volkswagen GTI / A7 Jetta GLI / 8V Audi A3

COBB Tuning’s Stage 1+ Redline DSG Package for MK7 Volkswagen GTI, A7 Jetta GLI and 8V Audi A3 puts two purchases most owners make a year apart into one box, the Accessport V3 with DSG / S Tronic flashing and the Redline Carbon Fiber Intake System. It carries CARB EO D-660-222, so the pair is legal on the street in all 50 states. The intake runs on the Stage 1 Off The Shelf ECU map. This is the package for the dual clutch owner who wants the engine bay to look as considered as the car drives; a manual gearbox is not on the list.

Redline Construction

The airbox is laid up by hand from layered 2×2 twill carbon fiber under a gloss clear coat that resists heat and UV fading. Air passes through one of the largest oiled filters COBB makes and a velocity stack before the silicone turbo inlet.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
