Does the Stage 1+ Redline Carbon Fiber Power Package need a tune?

Yes, and the tune comes in the box. The Redline intake must run on matching calibration, which the included Accessport supplies through COBB Off The Shelf maps written for this intake. Owners who want more than those maps can load a custom tune from a COBB tuner instead.

Can the package be sold and used in California?

Yes. The COBB dealer listing shows this kit as legal in all 50 states under CARB Executive Order numbers D-660-273 and D-660-345, provided it is installed on an emissions controlled vehicle as the COBB application guide directs. That includes registered street cars in California.

Do I have to mail my ECU to COBB?

Yes. The FL5 Civic Type R and DE5 Integra Type S use an ECU that COBB must open up for flashing before the Accessport can talk to it, so the unit is shipped to COBB and returned. After that one-time step, maps can be swapped with the handheld at any time.

Can I add an intercooler to this package later?

Yes. The Stage 1+ Redline Carbon Fiber package can grow, since the COBB Intercooler Kit for these cars is sold separately in black or silver and is listed as compatible with COBB maps. Buyers who already want it should compare the Stage 2 package, which bundles both.

What else can the Accessport do once the car is tuned?

It works as a gauge showing up to six live parameters and records up to 10 hours of datalogs. It also reads and clears trouble codes, stores up to 100 maps, times 0-60 and quarter mile runs, and adds Launch Control and Flat Foot Shifting.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 1+ Redline Carbon Fiber Power Package for FL5 Honda Civic Type R and DE5 Acura Integra Type S

COBB Tuning’s Stage 1+ Redline Carbon Fiber Power Package matches the Accessport V3 handheld with the Redline intake, an airbox built from several plies of 2×2 twill carbon and sealed in a gloss clear coat that resists fading from heat and UV. Because the intake requires tuning and the Accessport carries maps written for it, the pair is ready to drive as soon as both are fitted. It is the natural first step for an FL5 Civic Type R or DE5 Integra Type S that lives on the street with its factory intercooler; owners heading to regular track days should look at Stage 2, which adds a much larger core.

Features

Stage 1+ Redline Carbon Fiber intake feeds a one-piece composite MAF housing 36 percent larger in cross section than stock
CFD-designed velocity stack and flow straightener grid ahead of the MAF sensor
Large pre-oiled filter behind a lid that lifts off with a billet knob
Bespoke black Redline badge on the integrated carbon scoop
Accessport V3 with interchangeable faceplates and an in-vehicle mount with on/off switch
Reads and clears engine trouble codes
Performance timer for 0-60 mph, 60 foot, quarter mile ET and trap speed
Custom shift light, Launch Control, Flat Foot Shifting and Burnout Mode

Installing the Accessport over non-factory, non-COBB software may result in ECU or TCU failure
Each carbon airbox is hand laid, and small imperfections or weave pattern variances are normal

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
