Which Bronco models take the Intercooler in Silver for U725?

COBB lists the Intercooler in Silver for U725 for USDM Ford Bronco trucks from 2021 through 2026, covering the 2.3L EcoBoost with manual or automatic and the 2.7L EcoBoost with the automatic. The 3.0L Bronco Raptor is excluded and has its own COBB intercooler.

Will my stock Bronco benefit without a tune?

Yes, mainly through consistency. COBB lists no tuning requirement, so a stock truck keeps charge air cooler on long climbs and hot days. Engines running an Accessport or custom tune make more boost and heat, so they see the most value. Tuning is sold separately.

Can I register and drive this in California?

Yes for 2021 through 2025 model years. COBB holds CARB Executive Order numbers D-660-95, D-660-152 and D-660-293 for this part, so it is legal on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states when installed per the application guide. The 2026 model year is not yet approved for California sale.

Should I choose silver or black?

The choice is purely cosmetic. COBB builds both from the same cast aluminum, TIG welded design with identical core volume, cooling rating, fitment and CARB Executive Order numbers. Silver shows raw metal through the front openings, while black blends into the grille.

Does COBB publish a horsepower gain for this intercooler?

No. COBB quotes a 23% increase in cooling efficiency and 53% more core volume instead of a horsepower number. Expect cooler intake air and power that holds steady through repeated pulls, while real gains on a Bronco come from tuning, which this part supports.

Description

COBB Tuning Front Mount Intercooler in Silver for U725 Ford Bronco

COBB Tuning’s Intercooler in Silver for U725 Ford Bronco owners takes over from the original front mount cooler and leaves bare aluminum visible through the grille. The TIG welded, cast core holds 53% more volume than Ford’s part, and COBB quotes a 23% gain in cooling efficiency. That matters because the stock cooler on the 2.3L and 2.7L EcoBoost saturates under sustained boost and output drops. For a tuned Bronco working sandy trails or mountain passes, we consider it the sensible next purchase. Left stock and driven calmly, the truck mostly gains consistency in summer heat.

Construction and Installation

Every surface of the Intercooler in Silver for U725 trucks came from COBB engineers in house. The end tanks were refined with computational fluid dynamics until flow across the core was even and free of significant turbulence, and a broad chamfer on the outlet smooths the hand-off into the throttle body tube. During installation the core settles tightly against the OEM shutter shroud, which keeps air moving through the ambient side fins as before, with no cutting, trimming or lasting changes to the Bronco.

Features

53% greater core volume compared with the stock cooler
Cooling efficiency up 23% over the factory unit, per COBB
TIG welded assembly in cast aluminum
CFD-refined end tanks that spread flow evenly across the core
Wide chamfer at the outlet for a smooth path into the throttle body tube
Bolts into the factory location with no cutting, trimming or permanent changes
Silver finish that shows the bare aluminum

Applications

Ford Bronco: U725 | 2021-present | 2.3L EcoBoost, manual or automatic | USDM
Ford Bronco: U725 | 2021-present | 2.7L EcoBoost, automatic | USDM

Notes

Sold as the intercooler alone; an Accessport or custom tune is not included
Covers the 2.3L and 2.7L EcoBoost Bronco only; the 3.0L Bronco Raptor is not listed by COBB
50-state legal for 2021 through 2025 model years with CARB EO D-660-95, D-660-152 and D-660-293
2026 model year: not for sale in California at this time, pending CARB approval

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
