Will the Accessport V3 for N55 BMW fit a 2012 or later car?

No. The confirmed application list for AP3-BMW-002 covers only the 2011 model year 135i, 335i and 335i xDrive with the N55 engine. Later cars are not on that list, so contact COBB or Bulletproof Automotive with the exact year and model before buying for anything outside 2011.

Does this work on the 2011 335is?

No. The 2011 335is uses the N54 engine, which is covered by the separate N54 Accessport V3, part number AP3-BMW-001. This unit is meant for the N55 engine in the 2011 135i, 335i and 335i xDrive. Ordering by engine code rather than by model name avoids the mix up.

Is this Accessport CARB legal?

Yes. It holds California Air Resources Board Executive Order number D-660-7, so it can be sold and used on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states, California included. The approval assumes the device is used as described in the COBB application guide for the listed cars.

Can I run a custom tune on it?

Yes. The Accessport V3 for N55 BMW cars accepts maps written by a COBB tuner as well as the COBB Off The Shelf calibrations, and it stores up to 100 of them. A custom map makes sense once the modifications go beyond what the Off The Shelf maps were built for.

What can I monitor while driving?

Up to six live parameters at once, such as boost, drawn directly from the ECU and arranged in a race, street or dyno layout. The device can also log several channels for up to 10 hours, time 0-60 mph and quarter mile runs, and light a custom shift warning at a chosen RPM.

Description

COBB Tuning Accessport V3 for N55 BMW 135i / 335i

COBB Tuning’s Accessport V3 for N55 BMW owners covers a narrow window: the 2011 model year 135i, 335i and 335i xDrive fitted with the N55 engine. It rewrites the factory ECU with COBB calibrations under CARB Executive Order D-660-7, so the result stays legal on the road in every state, and then earns a permanent spot on the dash as a color gauge screen. Buy it if the car will gain parts over time, since COBB publishes Off The Shelf maps for most bolt-ons. The confirmed list stops at 2011, so check the build year before ordering.

Gauges and Performance Measuring

Mounted in the cabin, the Accessport V3 for N55 BMW cars reads data directly from the ECU and shows as many as six values together, arranged as a race, street or dyno cluster. A programmable shift light flags a chosen RPM, and the measuring suite records 0-60 mph, 60 foot, quarter mile ET and trap speed so that each change can be judged on numbers instead of feel.

Full color, higher resolution screen with interchangeable faceplates
Up to six live ECU readings in a customizable layout
Room for 100 stored calibrations
Up to 10 hours of multi-channel datalogging
Built-in 0-60 mph, 60 foot, quarter mile and trap speed timer
Adjustable RPM shift light
Trouble code read and clear

BMW 335i xDrive: E90/E92 | 2011 | N55 | Manual or automatic

Notes

50-state legal with CARB EO D-660-7
Installing this Accessport over anything other than factory or COBB software may result in ECU or TCU failure
Confirmed for 2011 N55 cars only; N54 models including the 2011 335is take AP3-BMW-001
Builds beyond the Off The Shelf stages need a custom map from a COBB tuner, sold separately

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
