Nitron NTR-R3 Coilover Kit for F2x BMW M135i, M140i, and M235i

The Nitron BMW F20 NTR-R3 Coilover Kit gives the F20 and F21 M135i and M140i and the F22 M235i independent control over how quickly and how slowly each damper moves, which a single-adjustment damper can’t offer. These are rear-drive cars with a turbocharged six-cylinder, so the chassis spends its time managing weight transfer, with the nose diving under braking, the tail squatting on the throttle, and the whole car pitching over rough pavement. Nitron’s passive NTR-R3 splits compression and rebound into separate high speed and low speed settings, so each of those events can be tuned without upsetting the others. Piggyback reservoirs sit on the front dampers, the rear reservoirs are connected by hose, and the rear keeps its divorced layout with a separate spring and damper. Adjustable spring perches set the ride height, race springs and adjustable top plates are included, and the kit is built for owners who run track days or have added power and want the suspension to keep pace.

Specialized Bi-Axis Hose Fittings

Only the rear reservoirs are hose-fed on this kit, which makes the fitting at the damper end the detail worth getting right. Nitron’s Bi-Axis fittings rotate through 720 degrees on two axes, so the hose can be turned to whatever direction the rear routing needs before it is tightened, and it leaves the damper without a kink or a tight bend. That keeps the line away from the subframe, the spring, and the moving parts of the rear suspension, and it makes fitting the kit less of a puzzle.

Unique Technology

Each NTR-R3 damper is a monotube unit with nitrogen pressure behind the oil, which keeps the fluid from cavitating when the shaft is moving quickly over rough surfaces. The four-way design splits each stroke into two kinds of movement. High speed covers fast shaft motion from sharp bumps and curbs, and low speed covers the slower motion of roll, dive, and squat. Compression and rebound each get a setting for both. Valving is set for the weight and spring rates of the F2x cars rather than carried over from another platform.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse.
