Is the 2.7L Stage 1 Power Package legal in California?

Yes. COBB holds California Air Resources Board Executive Order D-660-62 for the 2.7L Stage 1 Power Package, which makes it legal for sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states when installed according to the COBB application guide. The matching CARB sticker comes in the box with the Accessport and filter.

Does the package change how the transmission shifts?

Yes. Every 2.7L EcoBoost F-150 uses a combined module for engine and transmission control, so the Accessport can load Simulated Stock, COBB OEM+ or COBB Sport transmission calibrations. These adjust shift points, shift firmness, skip-shift behavior and torque limits, and Simulated Stock brings back factory shifting whenever you prefer it.

Will it fit a 2017 F-150 or a 3.5L truck?

No. COBB confirms this package for the USDM 2018, 2019 and 2020 F-150 with the 2.7L EcoBoost engine only. The 2017 model year is not on the application list, and 3.5L, Raptor and 2021 and newer trucks are served by different COBB Accessport part numbers and packages.

What does the drop-in filter add on a stock truck?

The COBB filter replaces the factory element inside the stock airbox. Its woven cotton and metal mesh media is designed by COBB for high flow and low restriction while still trapping dirt, and the precision molded rubber base seals it in place. Fitting it takes no cutting and leaves the factory intake tubing untouched.

Should I buy the 2.7L Stage 1 Power Package or go straight to Stage 2?

Buy the 2.7L Stage 1 Power Package if you want tuning and a filter with no other hardware. COBB Stage 2 packages for this truck add a larger intercooler, which COBB recommends because the stock unit heat soaks. The Accessport here already carries Stage 2 maps, so an intercooler added later does not mean buying a new device.

Description

COBB Tuning 2.7L Stage 1 Power Package for P552 Ford F-150

COBB Tuning’s 2.7L Stage 1 Power Package pairs the AP3-FOR-008 Accessport V3 with a 7F2200 drop-in high flow filter for the 2018-2020 F-150 with the 2.7L EcoBoost V6, and CARB EO D-660-62 covers it in all 50 states. The 2.7L runs one combined engine and transmission module, so a single flash reworks both, and COBB quotes Stage 1 peak gains of 10.09 percent horsepower and 15.01 percent torque on 93 octane. It suits a daily driven half-ton; owners already planning an intercooler should start with a Stage 2 package.

Engine and Transmission Calibration

The Accessport in the 2.7L Stage 1 Power Package ships with Off The Shelf maps for Stage 1, Stage 2 and Performance Tow on 91 or 93 octane. Transmission files include Simulated Stock, COBB OEM+, which moderately raises shift points while keeping Normal mode skip-shifting, and COBB Sport, which drops Normal mode skip-shifting except for light throttle 1-3 shifts. Both COBB files firm up high-power shifts and raise torque limits.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
