Does the Black Flex Fuel Power Package require cutting the bumper or grille?

No. COBB states the intercooler in the Black Flex Fuel Power Package mates snugly to the OEM shutter shroud and needs no cutting, trimming or permanent modification to the truck. That is the main reason to pick this package over the larger front mount version, which requires minor trimming on the back side of the grille.

Is this package legal in California?

No. COBB says it is not legal for sale or use in California on any emission controlled motor vehicle, with CARB testing still pending. In other states it is sold for on-street use under the EPA Anti-Tampering Policy provisions, backed by COBB emissions testing.

Do I need to run ethanol to use it?

No. The CAN Flex Fuel Upgrade measures whatever ethanol content is in the tank and reports it to the ECU, and the Accessport flex fuel calibration works from that reading. The flex fuel calibration must be loaded for the sensor data to be used.

Which trucks does it fit?

COBB confirms the USDM Ford F-150 Raptor with the 3.5L EcoBoost for the 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 model years. The F-150 Limited and the 2021 and later Raptor are not on the confirmed list for this Stage 2 package.

Can I add water or methanol injection later?

Yes. The cast intercooler has two flat sections built into it. COBB notes the top flat can be drilled and tapped to take an injection nozzle, while the bottom flat can serve as a drain port. No injection hardware is included.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 2 Black Flex Fuel Power Package with Factory Location Intercooler for P552 Ford F-150 Raptor

COBB Tuning’s Black Flex Fuel Power Package is the Stage 2 route for 2017-2020 Raptor owners who want more cooling and ethanol capability without cutting anything on the truck. It bundles the AP3-FOR-005 Accessport V3, the 7F2125 Intake System w/ HCT, the 7F1527-BK intercooler, the 3F2650 CAN Flex Fuel Upgrade and a COBB Vehicle Badge. Because the cooler bolts to the OEM shutter shroud, it suits a truck that keeps its factory front end; owners in California should look elsewhere, because this package is not legal there.

Intercooler Design

The intercooler in the Black Flex Fuel Power Package was designed by COBB in house, using computational fluid dynamics to shape end tanks that spread flow evenly and avoid areas of significant turbulence. A large chamfer smooths the outlet into the throttle body tube. Cast aluminum and TIG welded, it gives a core 70 percent larger than stock with 10 percent more cooling surface area, and two flat sections in the casting can be drilled and tapped for a water or methanol nozzle and a drain.

Features

Cast aluminum, TIG welded intercooler in black
CAN Gateway ethanol content sensing for flex fuel calibrations
Dual 3 inch mandrel bent aluminum intake tubing
Accessport V3 with gauges, datalogging and up to 100 stored maps
Raptor adjustments for Auto Start-Stop, Fuel Pump Control and Valet Mode

What’s Included

Accessport V3 for Ford F-150 EcoBoost Raptor and Limited (AP3-FOR-005)

Notes

Not legal for sale or use in California on any emission controlled motor vehicle; COBB reports CARB testing is pending
Sold for on-street use in states that accept the EPA Anti-Tampering Policy, based on COBB emissions testing
This Accessport flashes the engine ECU only; transmission tuning requires the TCM version of the package
Flex fuel operation requires a flex fuel calibration loaded through the Accessport
COBB warns that installing the Accessport over anything other than OEM or COBB software may result in ECU or TCU failure

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
