Power Enhancement

• The Audi R8 Capristo Exhaust system provides a 26 horsepower increase in engine output. Not only does it enhance performance, but it also features a lightweight design that contributes to a weight reduction of 25 pounds compared to the OEM system.

Valve Dynamics

• The valve dynamics of the Capristo Exhaust system are achieved through the use of vacuum-actuated valve flaps. These flaps are able to open and close depending on the driving conditions and driver input. At lower engine speeds and during cruise operation, the valves remain closed, resulting in a deeper exhaust note. However, during wide-open throttle and aggressive acceleration, the valves open, unleashing the full symphony of the engine.

CES-3 Control Module

• The backpressure-controlled exhaust valves are able to be customized by the user via the included CES-3 Control Module. This programmable control unit comes with three operating modes that can be navigated through a remote key fob.
  • Cruise: Exhaust valves open at higher RPMs
  • Sport: Exhaust valves open at lower RPMs and hard acceleration
  • Open: Exhaust valves remain open
• The vehicle’s Cruise and Sport modes can be independently configured to establish specific backpressure limits, which subsequently determine the activation times of the exhaust valves. This provides exact control over the exhaust system, enabling modifications to accommodate the driver’s distinct preferences and resilience.

• The engineering behind the Capristo Exhaust system is a testament to German precision and expertise. Advanced techniques such as 3D Laser-Scanning, CAD Design, Digital prototyping, and CNC-bending/milling are utilized to ensure the highest quality and performance. The exhaust system is crafted from T309 (1.4828) Stainless Steel, known for its exceptional acoustics, lightweight properties, and durability. This alloy shares similarities with Inconel, a highly regarded material in Formula 1.
