The Capristo Valved Exhaust System specifically designed for the Audi R8 enhances the vehicle’s exhaust note significantly. With meticulous engineering and expertise, this system incorporates state-of-the-art valve technology to deliver a personalized and adaptable driving experience.

Valve Mechanics

• The Capristo Valved Exhaust System achieves its functionality through the use of vacuum-actuated valve flaps that respond dynamically to driving conditions and driver input. At lower engine speeds or during cruise operation, the valves remain closed, creating a deeper and more resonant exhaust note. However, when the driver fully engages the accelerator, the valves open up, enabling the engine to release its full potential and creating an exhilarating symphony of sound.

CES-3 Control Module

• The backpressure-controlled exhaust valves are able to be customized by the user via the included CES-3 Control Module. This programmable control unit comes with three operating modes that can be navigated through a remote key fob.
  • Cruise: Exhaust valves open at higher RPMs
  • Sport: Exhaust valves open at lower RPMs and hard acceleration
  • Open: Exhaust valves remain open
• The vehicle’s Cruise and Sport modes can be independently configured to establish specific backpressure limits, which subsequently determine the activation times of the exhaust valves. This provides exact control over the exhaust system, enabling modifications to accommodate the driver’s distinct preferences and resilience.

Advanced Craftmanship

• Capristo Exhaust systems undergo a rigorous engineering and manufacturing process using advanced technologies such as 3D Laser-Scanning, CAD Design, Digital prototyping, and CNC-bending/milling at their factory in Germany. Constructed from high-grade T309 (1.4828) Stainless Steel, each system is meticulously hand-polished to achieve a stunning mirror finish. Through meticulous research, this particular alloy was carefully selected for its exceptional sonic resonance properties, lightweight construction, and remarkable durability, which exhibit qualities comparable to Inconel, a material commonly used in Formula 1.
