The Capristo 987.2 race exhaust set is the complete package for the second-generation Boxster and Cayman, valved exhaust, headers, and race downpipes together, addressing flow restriction from the headers back rather than just at the muffler. Capristo builds every piece at its own factory in Sundern, Germany using 3D laser-scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping, and CNC bending and milling, then manually TIG welds every joint and hand polishes the finished piece to a mirror finish. Construction is highest-grade T309 stainless steel, and the design carries a patented reinforcement aimed at eliminating resonance rather than relocating it further down the system. Because the set includes headers, it opens up the flat-six upstream of the mid section and downpipes, which is where a mid-engine Porsche’s exhaust character really lives. The system uses the OEM vacuum pipes to operate Capristo’s proprietary valves, and valve control is available either with the Capristo CES-3 kit or set up to run off the factory Porsche PSE system, depending on how the car is equipped.

Ordered with the CES-3 option, the Capristo 987.2 exhaust set includes the CES-3 programmable exhaust remote kit, which controls the proprietary Capristo valves independently of the factory drive modes. The control unit reads exhaust back-pressure continuously and opens the butterfly valves at a preset threshold under acceleration, freeing up flow and volume where you want it, while holding more back-pressure at low throttle and low rpm for better torque and everyday drivability. The kit ships with a 444 MHz remote key fob, a vacuum solenoid, and a pre-wired harness that only needs power and ground to install, so there’s no splicing into the factory exhaust wiring. An on-board self-learning function lets you pair additional key fobs, and a built-in failsafe leaves the valves open in the event of an electrical or vacuum fault, protecting the engine from damage. You can also save a default valve setting, so the system starts the way you left it without needing to reselect a mode every time you start the car.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
