AWE Tuning Track Edition Exhaust System w/ Chrome Silver Tips for DE5 Acura Integra Type S

The Track Edition exhaust offers a more unfiltered, aggressive driving experience, keeping the integrated front pipe and robust mid-pipe resonator from the Touring Edition but removing the rear 180 Technology resonator. The rear straight pipe produces a pronounced, raw tone during mid-range acceleration, deceleration, and cruising, making it significantly louder and more aggressive than the Touring setup, especially when used with a downpipe. So careful consideration is recommended for street use.

Track Edition Exhaust

• For those who like it raw and rowdy, the Track Edition is for you. The Track Edition shares the same integrated frontpipe, bespoke midpipe resonator, and precision engineering as its Touring Edition counterpart, minus AWE’s patented drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology®.
• In place of the 180 Technology® resonator in the rear lies a Track Edition straight section. As a result, this version is known to get (really) rowdy in mid-range acceleration and deceleration, and may be too much for many. You’ve been warned.

What is 180 Technology?

• AWE Tuning’s patented 180 Technology works as follows: As exhaust gases exit the engine and flow into a resonator equipped with AWE’s 180 Technology, they pass through strategically located ports and into reflection chambers. Sound waves carried by these exhaust gases bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. Depending on the sound requirements of each vehicle, AWE’s acoustic engineers adjust the size and location of the ports and chambers. By controlling these key elements, AWE Tuning can manage when the sound waves exit the chambers. The precise timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies.

Front Pipes

• The package includes a full 3” front pipe designed with a unique flange and gasket to ensure a consistent diameter from inlet to outlet. This front pipe is integrated into the exhaust design, allowing compatibility with both aftermarket downpipes and the factory downpipe.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system comes complete with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing for customized depth into the bumper based on personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During the research and development phase, AWE conducted an exhaustive evaluation of the factory valve and its behavior under various driving conditions to understand its purpose. No significant change in volume between modes was observed, necessitating a valve’s inclusion. The valve is only closed in comfort mode, opening upon reaching a throttle threshold. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the valve remains open, with Sport+ introducing burbles from the ECU. In the stock configuration, the exhaust routes through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce interior volume and drone-prone frequencies, and through the center when the valve is open.

Conversion Kits

• AWE makes it easy to convert between Track and Touring Editions if a change in interior volume is desired at a later date.
