The AWE Tuning Track Edition Exhaust System for the B8 and B8.5 Audi S5 is a complete rear exhaust upgrade that uses a straight-through, non-valved design to reduce restriction and bring out the full character of the supercharged 3.0T V6. By removing rear muffling, the system produces a louder, sharper, and more immediate exhaust note, with pronounced overrun and throttle response that highlights the engine’s mechanical character. Without valving, the tone remains consistent across all driving conditions, providing a raw, engaging sound experience. Constructed from mandrel-bent stainless steel, it ensures durability and smooth flow, while factory mounting points allow for a clean, direct installation. The system also includes large-diameter tips that integrate seamlessly with the S5’s rear styling, maintaining an OEM-aligned appearance while emphasizing the car’s performance intent.

Track Edition Exhaust

• For those who like it raw and rowdy, the Track Edition is for you. The Track Edition shares the same integrated frontpipe, bespoke midpipe resonator, and precision engineering as its Touring Edition counterpart, minus AWE’s patented drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology®.
• In place of the 180 Technology® resonator in the rear lies a Track Edition straight section. As a result, this version is known to get (really) rowdy in mid-range acceleration and deceleration, and may be too much for many. You’ve been warned.

What is 180 Technology?

• AWE Tuning’s patented 180 Technology works as follows: As exhaust gases exit the engine and flow into a resonator equipped with AWE’s 180 Technology, they pass through strategically located ports and into reflection chambers. Sound waves carried by these exhaust gases bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. Depending on the sound requirements of each vehicle, AWE’s acoustic engineers adjust the size and location of the ports and chambers. By controlling these key elements, AWE Tuning can manage when the sound waves exit the chambers. The precise timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system is equipped with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing for customization of their depth into the bumper based on personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During research and development, AWE conducted an extensive evaluation of the factory valve’s behavior under various driving conditions. They determined that there is no significant change in volume between modes requiring a valve. The valve remains closed only in comfort mode, opening upon reaching a throttle threshold. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the valve stays open, with Sport+ introducing burbles from the ECU. In the stock configuration, the exhaust routes through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce interior volume and drone-prone frequencies, and through the center when the valve is open.

Conversion Kits

• AWE has made it simple to convert between Track and Touring Editions if a change in interior volume is desired later.
