The AWE Tuning Track Edition Exhaust for the C400 and C450 AMG on the W205 chassis is designed to provide a more direct and unfiltered expression of the 3.0L twin-turbo V6. It features a non-resonated, downpipe-back layout that replaces the factory rear sections, producing sharper throttle response and a more aggressive tone under load while retaining manageable levels at cruising speeds. The system uses T304L stainless steel for durability and heat resistance, mounts to factory points for precise fitment, and includes quad tips that complement the W205’s rear design. Unlike the Touring Edition, it omits any drone-canceling resonators, resulting in a louder, more raw exhaust note that emphasizes the engine’s natural character without affecting emissions components.

Track Edition Exhaust

• For those wanting a more unfiltered, aggressive exhaust note, the Track Edition delivers. It retains the integrated front pipe, custom midpipe resonator, and engineering precision of the Touring Edition but removes AWE’s 180 Technology® drone-canceling system. The rear 180 Technology® resonator is replaced with a straight section, producing a much louder and more pronounced tone during mid-range acceleration and deceleration, intense enough that it may be overwhelming for some drivers.

What is 180 Technology?

• AWE Tuning’s patented 180 Technology channels exhaust gases through a resonator with strategically placed ports and reflection chambers. As sound waves move through, they reflect off the chamber walls, and the size and placement of these features are precisely tuned for each vehicle. By controlling the timing of when the reflected waves rejoin the main exhaust flow, a 180-degree out-of-phase wave is created, canceling targeted frequencies. Rather than using a universal design, each resonator is engineered for the specific acoustics of its vehicle, ensuring consistent, refined sound. The result is reduced unwanted tones while preserving a full, natural exhaust note, providing controlled performance and a balanced, signature sound in every 180 Technology-equipped system.

Exhaust Tips

• Each system includes three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips can be adjusted individually, allowing you to set their position within the bumper to suit your preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During development, AWE carefully analyzed the factory exhaust valve under various driving conditions and found that overall volume remains largely consistent across modes that activate the valve. The valve stays closed only in Comfort mode until a defined throttle point is reached, while in Sport and Sport+ it remains open, with Sport+ introducing ECU-controlled burbles. In the stock system, exhaust is routed through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce cabin noise and drone, and shifts to the center path once the valve opens.
