What is 180 Technology?

• AWE 180 Technology® uses resonators with strategically placed ports and reflection chambers to manage exhaust sound waves
• As gases flow through the resonator, sound waves bounce within the chambers, and the size and location of ports are tuned for each vehicle
• Reflected waves rejoin the main exhaust flow 180 degrees out-of-phase, canceling unwanted frequencies without affecting performance
• Each system is engineered for the specific acoustics of the vehicle, not a one-size-fits-all approach
• Ensures a consistent, refined, and signature exhaust tone across all applications
• Eliminates undesirable drone and harsh frequencies while maintaining full performance and aggressive character

Front Pipes

• The exhaust includes a full 3” front pipe with a custom flange and gasket, maintaining a consistent diameter from inlet to outlet. This integrated front pipe works with both factory and aftermarket downpipes.

Exhaust Tips

• Each system comes with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips in either chrome silver or diamond black, each stamped with the AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, letting you set their projection into the bumper to suit personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During development, AWE Tuning thoroughly analyzed the factory valve’s behavior across different driving modes. They found that volume changes are minimal except in Comfort mode, where the valve remains closed until a throttle threshold is reached. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the valve stays open, with Sport+ adding ECU-controlled burbles. Stock routing directs exhaust through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to minimize cabin volume and drone-prone frequencies, and through the center when the valve opens.

Conversion Kits

• AWE Tuning has designed the system so switching between Track and Touring Editions is straightforward, allowing for adjustment of interior volume if desired later.
