• The Touring Edition runs a true dual 3″ T304L stainless steel configuration with a precision-engineered X-pipe built specifically for the RS 5’s 2.9TT, paired with AWE’s patented 180 Technology® to keep the cabin drone-free at cruise. The result is an aggressive, menacing tone across the entire range without the drawbacks at highway speeds. For RS 5 owners, this is the setup that delivers on both ends.

What is 180 Technology?

• Exhaust gases leaving the RS 5 Coupe’s 2.9L engine pass through precisely placed ports and into reflection chambers inside the AWE 180 Technology® resonator. The sound waves those gases carry bounce off the chamber walls, and by controlling the size and placement of both the ports and the chambers, AWE determines exactly when the reflected waves re-enter the main flow. That timing generates a 180-degree out-of-phase wave that eliminates the problematic frequencies at the source. Science, engineering, or 180 Technology® by AWE; take your pick.
