AWE Touring Edition Resonated Exhaust w/ Quad Chrome Silver Tips for G2X BMW M340i & M440i

The AWE Touring Edition Resonated Exhaust for the G2X BMW M340i and BMW M440i is designed to bring out more of the B58 inline-six character without introducing the low-frequency drone that often comes with less restricted systems. It uses AWE’s 180 Technology® along with additional resonation in the mid-pipes to further smooth out harsh frequencies, which is especially noticeable during steady highway driving. Under load, the exhaust opens up with a deeper, more defined tone that still stays controlled and consistent through the rev range. The quad chrome silver tips sit cleanly within the factory rear valance, keeping the overall look close to OEM while adding a subtle visual upgrade. Built from T304L stainless steel and engineered as a direct bolt-on, it retains factory valve functionality where applicable, making it a well-suited option for drivers who want a noticeable change in sound without sacrificing everyday usability.

Touring Edition Exhaust

• Positioned at the intersection between sophistication and aggression, the Touring Edition Exhaust from AWE offers a dual 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back configuration. Performance of a straight-pipe without giving up on daily drivability is provided with the Exhaust, offering a deep and sophisticated sound without any drone noise when travelling on the highway.
• This exhaust features a stainless steel merger, comparable to two 3″ tubes that are connected to the downpipe. This resulting feature provides a 65% increment in flow than the original stock model, which can accommodate future utilizes of different sizes. Furthermore, the exhaust divides into two 3″ tubes, creating an optimized flow along the exhaust trail. Lastly, their Touring Edition is integrated with AWE’s 180 Technology®, which eliminates any drone-related sounds, providing a stronger and more complete sound from the B58 engine.
• AWE180 Technology® offers an impeccable sound.
• As the exhaust gases come out of the B58 engine and pass through the ports of the AWE180 Technology®-equipped resonator, they enter the reflection chambers. The sound waves proceed with the exhaust and bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. We regulate the sound waves leaving the chambers by managing the size and area of the ports and chambers. This results in the generation of a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave made up of the combined reflected sound waves, which cancels out undesirable frequencies.

What is 180 Technology?

• The 180 Technology(r) from AWE provides a way to eliminate problematic exhaust tones without sacrificing full performance capabilities, while leaving behind a distinctive AWE note. This patented system combines maximizing power and sound into a single package.
• The patented 180 Technology® of AWE facilitates an operation like this: when exhaust gases leave the engine and enter an AWE 180 Technology®-equipped resonator, they go through targeted openings and into reflection chambers.
• The sound waves generating from the exhaust gasses are guided through the reflection chambers and modified by AWE acoustic engineers to meet the designated sound requirements of each vehicle. By regulating the size and placement of the ports and chambers, the timing of the detached sound waves rejoining the main exhaust can be controlled to create an out-of-phase sound wave with a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree angle which nullifies out any undesirable frequencies.
• Consistency Through Change – Rather than using a “one size fits all” solution, AWE 180 Technology® designs sound-cancelling resonators tailored specifically to the sound produced by a particular vehicle. Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system is equipped with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing for customization of their depth into the bumper based on personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During research and development, AWE conducted an extensive evaluation of the factory valve’s behavior under various driving conditions. They determined that there is no significant change in volume between modes requiring a valve. The valve remains closed only in comfort mode, opening upon reaching a throttle threshold. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the valve stays open, with Sport+ introducing burbles from the ECU. In the stock configuration, the exhaust routes through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce interior volume and drone-prone frequencies, and through the center when the valve is open.

Conversion Kits

• AWE has made it simple to convert between Track and Touring Editions if a change in interior volume is desired later.

Equipping a downpipe

• If you have an M340i with the factory downpipe, AWE suggests you should opt for the non-resonated option in the Touring Edition Exhaust. But if your vehicle is already fitted with an aftermarket downpipe, the resonated variant would be better.
• No issues if you have a stock downpipe right now but you intend to change to an aftermarket one in the future. You can easily swap the resonated mids with an AWE Resonator Conversion Kit.
