What is 180 Technology?

AWE’s patented 180 Technology® works like this: exhaust gases leaving the engine pass through precisely placed ports and into reflection chambers inside the resonator. The sound waves those gases carry bounce off the chamber walls, and AWE’s acoustic engineers dial in the size and placement of both the ports and the chambers based on the specific sound requirements of each vehicle. That control determines exactly when the reflected waves re-enter the main exhaust flow, and that timing produces a 180-degree out-of-phase wave that cancels the problematic frequencies at the source.
