The AWE SwitchPath Exhaust with chrome silver tips for the 8V Audi S3 combines a fully valved system with a refined design to give the 2.0T TFSI engine a versatile acoustic profile. With the valves closed, it maintains a controlled, comfortable tone suitable for daily driving, minimizing drone and low-frequency harshness. When the valves open, the system produces a more aggressive, lively note, allowing the turbocharged four-cylinder to express itself fully under throttle and higher RPMs. Constructed from T304L stainless steel, the exhaust is a direct bolt-on and retains full integration with the factory controls, while the chrome silver tips provide a polished, OEM-friendly appearance that complements the rear valance without appearing oversized or aftermarket.

SwitchPath Edition

• The SwitchPath™ Exhaust is put together with smooth curves, efficient packaging, and a double-sided design. It is manufactured with hand-shaped 3-inch and 2.5-inch T304L stainless steel, which is made in the United States and features a controllable passenger-side tip.
• SwitchPath™ keeps the standard valve performance, responding to the S3’s ECU directions determined by how hard you press the accelerator, the speed of the engine and Drive Select. Starting off slowly to get ready for work in the morning or navigating the city at a slow speed? Close the valve. Ready to blast off? Flip the setting to Dynamic and your S3 will produce an exhilarating AWE sound with increased popping that will bring a pleased smile to your face.

What is SwitchPath

• The AWE SwitchPath Remote and accompanying control box overrides the factory valving to allow the exhaust valves, whether it be on the AWE SwitchPath Exhaust or the stock exhaust, to be opened or closed manually via the SwitchPath Remote.
• With the AWE SwitchPath Controller installed, the exhaust valves can be opened by pressing the “On” button found on the left side of the SwitchPath Remote. To close the exhaust valves simply press the “Off” button on the right side of the remote.
• Please note, the AWE SwitchPath Remote overrides the stock valve control, meaning the exhaust must be opened and closed with the remote as desired.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system is equipped with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing for customization of their depth into the bumper based on personal preference.

Conversion Kits

• AWE made it easy to convert between SwitchPath and Track Edition if you decide at a later date to change your volume. Easy.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• Sound perfection comes standard thanks to AWE’s SwitchPath™ Technology, which utilizes the S3’s factory valving. But when it comes to the Track Edition versions of these systems, these valves are eliminated, the ECU stores what is known as a ‘soft code’ in the system. While this code is not harmful, who wants it? Enter the AWE Electronic Valve Simulators.
• These simple devices plug right into the factory harness in place of the exhaust valves and prevent any code from ever being stored in the ECU due to the removal of the exhaust valves. Plug them in. Start it up. Drive away. That simple.
