Does the AWE S-FLO Carbon Fiber Intake for FL5 include the turbo inlet tube?

No. This listing is the carbon airbox, S-FLO filter, MAF housing, couplers and hardware; the AWE Carbon Turbo Inlet Tube is sold separately. A silicone coupler in the box mates the airbox to the factory turbo inlet tube, so the carbon tube can be added later.

Does the AWE intake need a tune on the Civic Type R?

No. The Carbon Fiber Intake for FL5 and DE5 cars keeps airflow across the sensor consistent through an 80 mm aluminum MAF housing, so AWE rates it no tune required and covers it with the AWE No Check Engine Light Guarantee when correctly installed.

How much power does the AWE S-FLO intake add?

AWE measured up to 20 hp and 16 lb-ft at the wheels for the complete S-FLO system, this airbox plus the Carbon Turbo Inlet Tube, on a 2023 FL5 Civic Type R with 91 octane software and an AWE exhaust. AWE publishes no figure for the airbox alone.

Is the S-FLO filter washable?

Yes. The S-FLO filter is a washable, oil-less inverted cone element with a 5 inch inlet and 85 percent more surface area than the factory filter. Sealed inside the carbon airbox, it is cleaned and refitted rather than replaced, with no oiling step afterwards.

Does this intake fit the Acura Integra Type S?

Yes. AWE lists the same part number for the 2024 and later DE5 Acura Integra Type S and the 2023 and later FL5 Honda Civic Type R, which share the K20C1 2.0 liter turbo engine and the same factory mounting locations.

Description

AWE Tuning S-FLO Carbon Fiber Intake for FL5 Honda Civic Type R and DE5 Acura Integra Type S

AWE Tuning’s S-FLO Carbon Fiber Intake for FL5 Honda Civic Type R and DE5 Acura Integra Type S replaces the factory airbox on the K20C1 with a sealed enclosure in genuine 2×2 carbon fiber, finished in UV-stabilized resin and clear coat so the weave keeps its depth under the hood. Inside, a washable S-FLO filter with 85% more surface area than stock feeds an 80 mm aluminum MAF housing, which is how AWE ships it with no tune required. It bolts to the factory mounting points, and it is half of a two-piece system AWE developed on its own dyno in Pennsylvania. For an owner who wants the engine bay as considered as the chassis, it is the place to begin.

Modular by Design

A silicone coupler in the kit joins this airbox to the factory turbo inlet tube, and it mates directly to the AWE Tuning S-FLO Carbon Turbo Inlet Tube when you complete the system. Buy it alone for the larger filter and the carbon finish; add the tube if the published power figures are the goal, because AWE measured those on both parts together.

Notes

This Carbon Fiber Intake for FL5 and DE5 cars is the airbox only; the AWE Tuning S-FLO Carbon Turbo Inlet Tube is sold separately
AWE’s 20 hp and 16 lb-ft wheel gains were recorded on the complete S-FLO system, fitted to a 2023 FL5 Civic Type R running 91-octane software and an AWE exhaust; they are not a bolt-on figure for the airbox alone
AWE’s installation guide covers the airbox step by step

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
