Translation: an impressive 65% increase in flow over stock that future proofs for downpipes of various sizes. Beyond the unique merge, the exhaust splits into dual 3” piping to allow optimal flow throughout the entire exhaust route. Bringing up the rear, the Touring Edition features AWE’s patented drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology®, which targets and omits drone-prone frequencies. What’s this mean for you? What is 180 Technology?

• AWE Tuning’s patented 180 Technology works as follows: As exhaust gases exit the engine and flow into a resonator equipped with AWE’s 180 Technology, they pass through strategically located ports and into reflection chambers. Sound waves carried by these exhaust gases bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. Depending on the sound requirements of each vehicle, AWE’s acoustic engineers adjust the size and location of the ports and chambers. By controlling these key elements, AWE Tuning can manage when the sound waves exit the chambers. The precise timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system is equipped with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing for customization of their depth into the bumper based on personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During research and development, AWE conducted an extensive evaluation of the factory valve’s behavior under various driving conditions. They determined that there is no significant change in volume between modes requiring a valve. The valve remains closed only in comfort mode, opening upon reaching a throttle threshold. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the valve stays open, with Sport+ introducing burbles from the ECU. In the stock configuration, the exhaust routes through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce interior volume and drone-prone frequencies, and through the center when the valve is open.
