What is 180 Technology?

• AWE’s patented 180 Technology channels exhaust gases through a resonator with precisely placed ports leading into reflection chambers, where sound waves bounce off the chamber walls
• The size and location of the ports and chambers are tuned for each vehicle to control when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow
• Reflected waves meet the main flow 180 degrees out of phase, canceling frequencies that typically cause cabin drone or harsh tones
• Each system is designed for the specific acoustic profile of the vehicle, rather than using a universal approach, ensuring consistent and balanced sound
• The result is a clean, controlled exhaust note that eliminates unwanted tones while preserving full performance and delivering a distinct, signature sound

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system includes three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each marked with a stamped AWE logo. The tips are fully adjustable, allowing you to set their depth in the bumper to match personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During development, AWE carefully studied the factory exhaust valve under a variety of driving conditions and found that volume remains largely consistent across modes that use the valve. The valve stays closed only in Comfort mode, opening once a throttle threshold is reached, while in Sport and Sport+ modes it remains open, with Sport+ adding ECU-controlled burbles. In the stock setup, exhaust is routed through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to minimize cabin volume and reduce drone-prone frequencies, and through the center when the valve is open.
