The system is manufactured from high-grade titanium in a distinctive layout, one central muffler flanked by two side mufflers and a titanium collector, fed by larger-than-stock-diameter stainless steel link pipes and custom flex tubes fully insulated where they attach to the downpipes. Akrapovic’s in-house dyno testing against an Audi RS 6 Avant Performance (C8) fitted with the stock Audi Sport exhaust recorded gains of 11.6 kW (15.8 hp) and 17.9 Nm (13.2 lb-ft) of torque, both at 6,150 rpm, alongside a 24.7% weight reduction, when the Evolution Line is paired with its companion link pipe set.
Sound and Valve Control
A valve on each side muffler controls exhaust gas flow, working alongside a complex active X-connection valve that manages exhaust pulses from both sides of the engine; every valve housing and the X-connection itself are cast in Akrapovic’s in-house foundry. The result is a soundtrack acoustically tuned across the entire rev range, a low-down rumble building through a strong mid-range into a high-frequency top end, with a sharp rumble on every downshift, while staying free of unwanted drone at cruising speed for everyday comfort.
