Does the Active Autowerke M340i mid-pipe already include the Chassis Brace for G20?

Yes. Active Autowerke includes the Chassis Brace for G20 and G22, its G2X Brace, with the 2024-and-older version of its M340i and M440i mid-pipe. Buyers of that mid-pipe, or of an Active Autowerke exhaust bundle that contains it, receive a brace and do not need to order this part separately.

Will this brace fit a 2025 M340i or M440i?

Active Autowerke pairs this G2X brace with its mid-pipe for 2024 and older cars and supplies a different Active brace with the 2025 and newer mid-pipe. BA lists this part for 2024 and older cars, and owners of a 2025 or later car should check fitment with BA before ordering.

Does the G2X brace reduce chassis rigidity?

Active Autowerke states that the brace makes room for larger exhaust systems without sacrificing any rigidity compared with the factory part. It is made from 6061 aluminum and installs in the factory brace position, so the car keeps a brace in the same location.

Which body styles does the brace fit?

Active Autowerke lists it for the M340i and M440i. That covers the G20 M340i sedan and the M440i in G22 coupe, G23 convertible and G26 Gran Coupe form, all with the B58 3.0 liter turbocharged six, through the 2024 model year.

Do I need a new brace if I keep the stock mid-pipe?

No. The brace exists to give larger aftermarket mid-pipes room to pass. An M340i or M440i that keeps the factory mid-pipe, or adds only a rear section such as the Active Autowerke valved axle-back, has no clearance problem for this part to solve.

Description

Active Autowerke Chassis Brace for G20 BMW M340i and G22 / G23 / G26 M440i

Active Autowerke’s Chassis Brace for G20 BMW M340i and G22 / G23 / G26 M440i, which the company calls its G2X Brace, replaces the factory underbody brace with a long 6061 aluminum plate laid out to clear a bigger exhaust. Active Autowerke released it in January 2025 for the B58 six-cylinder cars and includes it with the 2024-and-older version of its G2X mid-pipe, which removes the factory resonator and needs the extra room. On its own it suits the M340i or M440i owner running a larger aftermarket mid-pipe from another maker. A car keeping the factory exhaust gains nothing from it, and the stock brace can stay.

Design and Performance

Where the S58 braces are compact plates, the G2X part runs much of the width of the car: a flat aluminum beam with a raised, boxed center section. Active Autowerke states that the reshaped brace adds clearance without sacrificing any of the stiffness of the BMW original, and it bolts up in place of the factory brace.

Features

Long-format 6061 aluminum brace with a raised center section
Replaces the factory M340i and M440i underbody brace
Frees clearance for larger-diameter aftermarket mid-pipes
Active Autowerke states no loss of rigidity versus the factory part
The same G2X brace Active Autowerke supplies with its 2024-and-older M340i mid-pipe
Part number 11-129, sold individually

Applications

BMW M340i: G20 | 2020-2024 | 3.0L B58
BMW M440i: G22 / G23 / G26 | 2021-2024 | 3.0L B58

Notes

Active Autowerke supplies the Chassis Brace for G20 with the 2024-and-older version of its Mid-Pipe for G20 M340i and G22 M440i, while its 2025-and-newer mid-pipe comes with a different Active brace, so this listing is fitted to 2024 and older cars
Owners buying the Active Autowerke mid-pipe, the Rear Exhaust and Mid-Pipe Bundle or the Full Exhaust Bundle with AFlow Downpipe already receive a brace and do not need this one
The S58 cars take their own braces: the Chassis Brace for G80 and the Chassis Brace for G87

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
