Which trucks do the AFlow Catted Downpipes for P552 fit?

The AFlow Catted Downpipes for P552 fit the 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 Ford F-150 with the second-generation 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6. Active Autowerke lists both 2WD and 4WD trucks, and the downpipes bolt to the factory turbochargers in place of the stock units.

Are these downpipes EPA compliant?

Yes. The Active AFlow converters are EPA registered and fully OBD2 compliant for 1996 and newer vehicles, and Active Autowerke sells this set as EPA compliant. Each downpipe keeps its own 5 inch converter, and the factory oxygen sensors stay in service.

Is a tune required with the AFlow downpipes?

Active Autowerke does not name a tune as a requirement. It does say the extra flow supports higher power levels, especially alongside tuning and other supporting modifications, so a truck that is already tuned or about to be will see the most return from the swap.

Can I install them myself?

The downpipes are a direct bolt-on with no cutting or fabrication, and Active Autowerke says most installs can be done with standard tools. Experienced owners can tackle the job at home, though working room around the turbos on an F-150 makes a lift or a shop the easier route.

Why choose AFlow over GESI?

Price is the main reason. Both sets share the same 3 inch stainless pipework and the same 950 horsepower rating. The AFlow converters take up to 15 seconds to reach working efficiency against 9 for the GESI version, and carry a 1500F heat rating against 1600F, which matters most on a truck that tows heavy loads.

Description

Active Autowerke AFlow Catted Downpipes for P552 Ford F-150 3.5 EcoBoost

Active Autowerke’s AFlow Catted Downpipes for P552 Ford F-150 3.5 EcoBoost give the 2017 to 2020 twin-turbo V6 a freer path out of both turbochargers while keeping a 5 inch Active AFlow converter in each bank. The factory downpipes are one of the tightest points in the EcoBoost exhaust, and replacing them with 3 inch mandrel-bent stainless lets the turbos reach boost sooner. Active Autowerke designs and assembles the set in Miami. For a daily-driven or lightly modified truck this is the sensible buy: the AFlow converters carry the same 950 horsepower rating as the GESI Catted Downpipes at a markedly lower price, giving up only some light-off speed and heat margin.

Design and Performance

Smooth mandrel bends keep the 3 inch section at full diameter through every turn, and a flex section built into each pipe soaks up engine rock on the way to the exhaust. Active Autowerke cuts the turbo flanges on a CNC machine for a sealed joint, carries the factory oxygen sensors over unchanged, and quotes a deeper exhaust note with more turbo sound and no excessive drone.

Features

Pair of 5 inch Active AFlow super high output converters
EPA registered, OBD2 compliant converters on a 304 stainless metallic substrate
Active Autowerke states they will not set a catalyst efficiency check engine light
Factory oxygen sensors retained
Direct bolt-on replacement for the factory downpipes
Pairs with the stock exhaust or an aftermarket cat-back

Notes

The AFlow Catted Downpipes for P552 suit 2WD and 4WD F-150s with the second-generation 3.5L EcoBoost
Active Autowerke covers the downpipes for 1 year, the converter shells and tube ends for 5 years or 50,000 miles, and the catalytic cores for 2 years or 25,000 miles, for the original purchaser only. Excessive burble from a tune voids the core warranty.
For quicker light-off and a 1600F heat rating, see the GESI Catted Downpipes for P552 Ford F-150

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
